Celebrating 20 years of the BMSS family and ten years of BMSS the record label, "Return to the Source” brings together sonic synthesis from all corners of the multiverse. 

17 tracks representing the mature tone of BMSS, which has evolved over the last two decades into a style that pays tribute to the source of our scene by disregarding trend and convention. An eclectic selection gathered by label manager and globe trotting DJ Boom Shankar to challenge standards that breed conformity and reflecting his own personal style that prioritizes story and flow over genre and BPM.

The story told by this 20th anniversary release unfolds in two parts. The journey begins by taking you back to the source and the darker side of the Psychedelic spectrum. Chapter 1 revolves around the intense magnetic power of the moon. 

Defiant, relentless energy distilled into: one of the last tracks by the recently departed Hux Flux, new music by psychedelic pioneer Total Eclipse, Japanese production perfection from Majide, Triceradrops and his hybrid psychedelic Techno, Dark Nebula and Datacult’s re-imagined “Beyond that Door” experienced through a Gamma Goblin filter, the prolific PsiloCybian and masterful productions by the legend worthy Braincell, Imaginary Sight and Lucid Mantra. Their sonic wizardry is designed to reinvent and reconnect you as you embark on this epic odyssey through the underbelly of moon-time music.

Clever re-interpretations of ancient Goa trance classics stand alongside the intensely psychedelic visionary art of Aashit Singh. His visual fusion of the old and the new creates a bridge between the past and the present where Plus 6 Masterings' full bodied analog sound gives each audible detail a clearly defined space.

ANUBYZZ[aka]SATANUBYZZ a Storyteller DJ from (PMM) Post-Modern Music that plays multiple styles and genres. His sets are usually made with a porpoise of bringing nostalgic memories, deep feelings, and goosebumps to any type of crowd, ethnicities, cultures, religion's. His set intros are always originals and with that he aims to mark the difference and to describe the story he wants to tell, like the index on the books.

Anubyzz is the psychedelic DJ project of Bruno, based in London and originally from Portugal, Bruno has forever had an innate drive for quality music and inducing the party prerogative among friends. Boom Festival 2012 is where he truly discovered the sounds that later shaped his style. 
Always experimenting with new concepts Anubyzz delves into the darker night-time side of psychedelic, selecting powerful 
DarkPsy/Forest/Hitech/DarkpsyExperimental  tracks to tell a story and drive the energy of the dancefloor to its peak. He has been playing regularly in the London underground rave scene with The Psychedelic Way, Boogie Woogie, BlackDropFamily and PsyGypsies. Also Anubyzz has perform in August 2021 on The Element Festival in Albania alongside with Atriohm, Alien Trancesistor, Weirdos, Aztec Dosage, Leso, SilverDaze and many others. 
In 2022, ANUBYZZ start listening to faster bpms and more experimental music and after some research he started playing Darkpsy Experimental/Psycore in underground raves with that genres, creating then in 2023 an alter-ego named SATANUBYZZ for his sets of experimental and faster bpms.
Beginning of 2024 he signed with the label (PMM) Post-Modern Music,

Europe based Boom Shankar is a Dj for Psychedelic Trance, the label manager of BMSS Records, a mover, groover and event creator within Europe and Asia.

Having been initiated into the Goa Trance scene in the early Nineties and by travelling the globe ever since, his sets are a mirror of the constant melting pot of fundamental Psytrance characteristics.

Whether he is guiding the dance floor from the sunset through the night, from a peaking full moon into the sunrise, from the morning into a sun-blessed day, or closing a festival with one of his extended sets, the outcome is always a voyage filled with a depth and an energy that allows the crowd to experience a sense of freedom and a full expression of their self through Trance.

Energetic, ecstatic, transcendental, deep, mature, hypnotic and clearly distinguishable. Eye to eye with a unique and captivating smile.

Due to an experience of nearly 30 years behind the decks, and by having played at a plethora of underground & major events worldwide, he has developed a full understanding of the flow and the energies of each dance floor and is fully flexible in terms of "styles" which he considers a separation necessary to overcome. "Keeping it holistic" describes his approach to Psychedelic Trance probably best.

Through his fully improvised impromptu sets, he is able to interact personally with each dance floor, taking the audience on a trans-formative journey. His sets are not a performance, they are a direct form of communication through music, not a monologue but a full dialogue with the dancefloor which can last up to 12 hours. All of those journeys are unique and created in this specific moment in sync with the energy and the vibe of each dancefloor, a characteristic of the original approach to Djing Armin considers essential and necessary to keeping alive.

For Boom Shankar, this process of mutual giving and receiving between the Dj and the audience has led to rewarding and meaningful feedback from festivals like BOOM and Insomnia in Portugal, Universo Paralello in Brazil, Fusion, VooV, Indian Spirit and Antaris in Germany, Ozora and S.U.N. in Hungary, Glade in the UK, Summer never Ends, Reisefieber and Timegate in Switzerland, Hadra and Son Libre in France, Vortex in South Africa, Doof and Moksha in Israel, Transahara in Morocco, Transylvania Calling in Romania, Ometeotl, Poison and Fractal Dimension in Mexico, Universal Religion in Nepal and VER and Hill Top in India.

Memorable performances include headlining events in clubs from New York to San Francisco and Los Angeles, Montreal to Mexico City, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Shenzen, Osaka and Seoul to London, Berlin, Beirut and Tel Aviv, Cape Town to Melbourne, Bangalore and Goa and in nearly every other major venue and Trance epicentre in the world.

Besides this, Boom Shankar is the label manager of BMSS Records, where he has released a dozen best-selling compilations so far:

Transmissions, Transition, Cosmic Connections, the Trancendance triptych series (Prologue - Denouement - Epilogue), Trancefusion 1 and Trancefusion 2, the 20 years anniversary double CD compilation Return to the Source I and Return to the Source II and Ailiphilia Chapter 1 and 2.

Those compilations featured artists such as Aes Dana, Braincell, Tristan, Technossomy, Etnica, Pleiadians, Hux Flux, Total Eclipse, Sonic Species & Avalon, Eat Static, Pogo, Lucas & Mechanimal, Egorythmia, Ovnimoon, Atmos, Cosmosis, Electrypnose, Hujaboy, Captain Hook, Headroom & Zen Mechanics, Entheogenic, Talpa, Martian Arts, Outsiders, ManMadeMan, Hypnoise or Hypnocoustics alongside all BMSS Records residents.
