La tecnología ha multiplicado las maneras de 
aproximarse a la memoria sonora de una cultura: alterándola/interviniéndola/revisitándola. Hoy, pueden intervenirse contenidos de maneras creativas, tomando el cut/paste y el remix como métodos de reapropiación, resignificación y creación. 
Con el objetivo de reflexionar sobre esas prácticas, nace Inmersiva, producción del Centro de Cultura Digital en la que músicos y productores fueron invitados a sumergirse en los archivos de la Fonoteca Nacional, para generar nuevos materiales. Creemos que entender e impulsar la vitalidad del patrimonio sonoro de México es el principal espíritu de Inmersiva.

Moisés Horta forma parte de Los Macuanos, trío que buscó crear un sonido propio desde la condición geográfica que le vio nacer: la frontera noroeste de México. Como DJ Nombre Apellido, cultiva la singularidad de la música de baile, sin casarse con un género o un BPM. es el alias bajo el cual participa en el EP para Inmersiva. 
Con ruidismo digital intenta explorar el oscurantismo que intuye está por manifestarse en un futuro no muy lejano. 
Para él, el sampleo, las grabaciones de campo, la síntesis sonora y la programación de beats son herramientas que utiliza al momento de componer. Para Inmersiva, indagó en compositores pioneros de la electrónica nacional como Antonio Russek, Roberto Morales Manzanares o Julián Carrillo.

Juan Ernesto Díaz “Juane” estudió composición, y desde muy temprana edad se sintió fascinado por las percusiones. Forma parte del sello/colectivo N.A.A.F.I.,	 que desde hace un lustro cultiva ritmos periféricos. En la primera fiesta a la que lo invitaron a poner viniles programó desde cumbia peruana y colombiana hasta psicodelia latina. Su participación en Inmersiva sucede bajo el alias Espectral. Para él, la renovación del patrimonio sonoro mexicano y el uso del archivo y apropiación de materiales son actos políticos y de reconstrucción. Al final, creó un EP con pequeños interludios futuristas inspirados en danzas regionales, con guiños a la Costa Chica y la música ikoots, y varios de los ritmos y melodías que forman parte de su bagaje musical.

Vetiver Bong es el alter ego cumbiero de Joaquín Rosendo, músico y productor de un álbum en el que incluso colaboró Jaime López. Ha realizado varios EPs de mashups (los Cumbia Weapons) y forma parte de la alineación de Los Ángeles Azules desde hace un par de años. Lo que le entusiasmó de formar parte  de Inmersiva fue poder hacer uso de los archivos de la Fonoteca para hacer sampleos, y que el CCD se interesara en publicar discos de desconocidos. Su participación en este proyecto le vino como anillo al dedo ya que se relacionaba directamente con una de las herramientas con las que creó el personaje con el que se ha dedicado a hacer música para bailar.

Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.
To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. With artists from across the globe and musical genres, these carefully crafting renditions of Desert Dwellers' The Great Mystery are a potent combination of immersive soundscapes that pay a loving tribute to the original compositions.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bootsy Collins is releasing his 23rd studio record, Album of the Year Number One Funkateer on April 11 via Bootzilla Records/Roc Nation. Tracing back his legendary career, there was a pivotal moment: when James Brown hired the Pacemakers—the band led by teenage Bootsy and his brother Catfish—to replace his backing group in 1970. 

He also led the side project Bootsy’s Rubber Band, recording multiple gold-certified albums, and began contributing to recordings by artists including Iggy Pop and Herbie Hancock. When Rolling Stone put together their list of the Greatest Bassists of All Time, Bootsy was ranked in the top five. 

Collins has reached new generations for more than five decades. He collaborated with superstar Deee-Lite, provided the lead vocal on Fatboy Slim’s Grammy-winning hit “Weapon of Choice,” and acted as the narrator on Silk Sonic’s platinum album An Evening with Silk Sonic (he even gave Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak the name for their project). 

The 17 tracks on Album of the Year cover all the bases, from the silly Bootsy to the sexy Bootsy (“Pure Perfection,” which uses a delivery that Bruno Mars calls “the Bootsy bedroom voice”) to the social commentary of “Tonight We Rise.” 

In addition to working with young artists like Barbara Teleki and Bootdullivan, Collins brought in some other legendary contributors including longtime friend Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. The album also reunites him with Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and tha Dogg Pound.
