John passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was always effusive about his love for this community and all of you who supported him. I will be maintaining his account and any proceeds from his music will be donated to the Jazz Foundation of America. From Chicago, lifetime striving to play jazz piano, involved in electronic music since getting ARP 2600 in 70's. More recently also drawn to ambient music. Lucky to be on the northern California coast playing steady piano gigs and now making soundscapes of this time and place.

Ambient listening: Eno, Stars of the Lid, Brian McBride, Adam Wiltzie, The Dead Texan, Christina Vantzou, Lawrence English, Kyle Bobby Dunn, some dark ambient and many others.

I like to discover and get inspired by music from other -non professional- artists in this genre. 

When not on Soundcloud I listen to ambient, classical music (almost everything from Bach to Ligeti), post-punk (played in a few bands in the eighties), post-rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, electronic (mainly Autechre, Boards of Canada) and lots of other stuff... (new-age not allowed in my house).
