After a string of acclaimed releases on Token and a selection of remixes, Ø [Phase] released his debut album 'Frames Of Reference' on Token last fall. Lee Van Dowski is a name not new to the scene or new to Mobilee. The French born, Geneva based artist has taken the scene by storm ever since 2004 when he released his ground breaking Extension EP with Quenum on Cadenza. After he began to rise quickly amongst the ranks Lee had the opportunity to play in some of the most famous and celebrated clubs around the globe. It was through these travels that he would become connected with Mobilee for the very first time. In 2008 his first release on Leena; Louder Elvis was released, the collaboration with long time colleague Agnes was well received by DJs and dancers alike. This marked the beginning of Lee's working relationship with Mobilee, which from this point forward only grew. The following year Lee saw his first release on the main label with a widely success collaboration with Anja Schneider. Then that same year The Variable Man, a stellar follow up to Louder Elvis was released with eager anticipation by fans and music enthusiast worldwide. On top of working regularly with Mobilee, Lee continues to work with Cadenza, his recent remix of Rebelski's "The Rift Valley" reaching number two on the Cadenza top ten on Beatport. After a short break from Mobilee, Lee Van Dowski is back with a vengeance. Bringing you Branding You Damned, the EP marks Lee's official entry onto the Mobilee roster with another upcoming release on the parent label in May. Lee's follow up to The Variable Man is another conquest of what we have come to expect from him. This time around collaborating with Dean Demanuele and a guest appearance by none other than Cari Golden, Branding You Damned presents the same uplifting style that he is famous for. The EP is bound to shake up dance floors worldwide with style and grace without losing a slight element of darkness that keeps the record in a well-rounded package.

KA-YU - IDLE MOMENTS

KA-YU, also known as Woody Latuheru is a Dutch/Moluccan producer, percussionist & DJ from Oosterwolde, a small village in Holland. He recently uses his musicality to focus more into sample-based Hip-hop and Jazz-influenced sounds, and in 2013 he started studying sound-design in Leeuwarden to improve his mixing and producing skills. Besides music, he is also a fan of photography and visual art, and that provides him with a great source of inspiration for his beats. KA-YU's goal is to try to convey a ''feel good'' factor with his music, and 'Idle Moments' does just that. Keep a lookout for some forthcoming DTW material from this man too.

In tribute to the 'Holkham Drones' title of Luke Abbott's recent debut album, we will be transforming Room 2 of our next Border Commune night at London's Corsica Studios (24th September) into a cosy alternative space dedicated to a series of live performances around the theme of Drone, named 'The Holkham Drone Zone'.

Although originally advertised, Luke Abbott himself won't actually be able to attend this special evening of drone thanks to a double booking. But by way of apology he is giving away 'Forgive and Remember', a special improvised lone-home-drone for your home listening delectation, accompanied by the following explanation:

"Although Border Community have dedicated a whole room to the Drone-theme of the title of my album, thanks to a double-booking and contrary to earlier advertisements I won't actually be able to attend the drone-evening. To make up for it, I have recorded this home-drone session, and I strongly advise you to check out the other live performances from my brothers in drone Wesley Matsell, James Holden, Dan Tombs, Perc and An'Unexpectacle which will still be going ahead in my absence..."

emptyset is a bristol based project formed in 2005 by james ginzburg, director of the multiverse studios and the curator and electronic artist paul purgas. the project explores the legacy of analogue media, integrating aspects of rhythm, signal processing and spatial recording within the framework of minimalist composition. their work interrogates the perceptual boundaries between noise and music and the potential for both technology and architecture to embed and codify themselves within sound.

collapsed is emptyset’s first release on raster-noton and investigates the threshold where sonic structure is destabilized to the point where a chaotic order emerges out of a resistance to fragmentation and likewise explores the potential contained within this liminal space of transition. across the four tracks of the release a structural grammar is defined and then pushed to excess to the point where it reforms from repetitive and stable frameworks into non-grid based forms and ultimately chaotic rule sets.
