This ensemble first met on the equivalent of an online dating site for musicians and other people looking for other things, including "dates". They found each other through a mutual interest in Progressive Rock Fusion of the instrumental variety and a need to jam.

Sheldon Kreger: young, enthusiastic and steeped in geek lore was Odin's Itch first Drummer. 

Neil Valette: lightly brooding and a man who is on the hunt plays Bass with a liquidy smoothness that will have you saying, It sounds better than butter, if you could hear butter play. 

Tom Blackburn: Hamster whisperer, lover of anything orange, Lord of the Cheese plays Stringed instruments. He mainly plays guitar but occasionally mandolin and lap steel in a way that not even he knows what he's doing. 

These three men agreed to start seeing each other, musically, in the late summer of 2013.

They worked hard on original instrumental music that Tom had written and after six months decided to take the relationships to the next level and try a 4some. They brought in another guitar player and decided to name the band Oomblik but neither of those two decisions took hold so after some more searching on that web site they used earlier they came across Knute Snortum. 

Knute, tall, semi dark and mysterious plays Keyboards. Knute, the K is not silent, Snortum has a vast knowledge of music theory, animal husbandry and the inner working of the mind, which he uses to ply the keys like they were that tool thingy that Scandinavians use for carving things.

6 Months later there would be creative differences between Sheldon and the band and it was agreed that Sheldon would stay and help record some demos and then leave. 

May 2015, after several try outs with different drummers along comes Jake Cantrell. Jake, the man with a million drums, deep DJ voice, and a love for camping has a simple 4 piece set of drums with cymbals raised high and a Bruford had lunch with Mitch Mitchell way of playing. When Jake entered the band they decided to change their name to Odin's Itch after asking friends for band name ideas.

So now they stand aligned with the common goal to go forth and do the best they can with what they have at that moment.

You really can't ask too much else from anyone. 

Hello abductee! I make Scifitronica: Ambient sci-fi synthpop. It's a cosmic blend of Kraftwerk, The KLF and Tangerine Dream, embracing diverse styles including electronica, ambient, and industrial rock/metal.

Hymns for Machines made 13th Best Album of 2014 and Hymn of a Sorrowful Mind named 19th Best Single of 2015. Reactor was named 18th Best Album of 2014 by NBTMusic Radio and from that album, the track Evaporator was named 52nd Best Song of 2014.

BIO

For pianist and composer, Denise Young, the path to becoming a professional musician seems a natural progression for this talented artist. Denise took to the piano with a natural affinity by first playing tunes by ear and began formal lessons at age five. Born in music tradition-rich St. Louis, Missouri, Denise was introduced to music through her musician father - also somewhat of a child prodigy, being self-taught on his mother’s player piano. She was also encouraged by her mother’s deep appreciation for music. As Denise recalls, “my mother often asked me to play 'Love Is a Many Splendored Thing' to lift her spirits. I believe that experiencing the positive effects of music is part of what led me further into realizing the depth of emotional expression through music.”
