Music to Talk To is the first project released by Queens raised, LA based artist Boringken. It's the culmination of 2 years of experiences, openings, closures, scattered releases which felt more like impulsive decisions, anxiety, and real, found joy. 

Music to talk to is about boundaries, losing what doesn't serve you in the first place, recollection and spiraling, relationships which don't work out and perspective. Boringken is the producer, songwriter, mixing and vocal engineer, and experiencer. Nic Cyburbs is the photographer who shot the cover. 

This EP means a lot to me but it is by no means my best. I have so much more to show.

Hoy les comparto el 4/4 de mi programa en @mariposabog, este programa tiene la intención de enlazar artistas en diferentes locaciones, unidos por el impulso e interés en el underground cuir latinoamericano y el acercamiento que tiene cada invitadx en su escena local, haciendo un aporte enorme a la visibilización del movimiento musical del sur global.

RICO RICA (a.k.a @mmmmrico) es unx cantante, DJ y productorx. Sus sets y producciones fusiona influencias de su crianza Barranquillera, el carnaval y los Picos, con la energía estrambotica y transgresora de la escena underground cuir latinoamericana.

Sus sets estan plagados de percusiones furtivas, vocales provocativas y bouncy bajos. Su curaduria transgresora escapa loslimites de géneros y BPMs. En sus mezclas podras encontrar Reggaeton, Baile Funk, Champeta, Guaracha, Gqom, Raptor house, Jersey Club, Hard Dance, Techno, DNB.

Desde 2020, produce fiestas, raves y eventos, incluyendo exhibiciones y performances. Su curaduria se enfoca en mostrar talento latinoamericano del underground y de la comunidad Queer. Ha producido fiestas con Chimbites (WWW), Palacio del Pecado (NYC), Kadera (MTL), MUAKK (COL), MOR (COL), Red Comunitaria Trans (BOG), House of Tupamaras (BOG), Club Quarantine (TO), Matineo (VZ).

En Medellin, produjo Evangelion en una iglesia de Robledo y la iconica Coketa con illdabo en Casa Clown.

Ha compartido escenario con Safety Trance, Tomasa del Real, Rosa Pistola, TAYHANA, Pelada, BCLIP, Yajaira, Toccororo, CRRDR, PVSSY, WOST, DJ G2G, Meg10, Jasmine Infinity, Mazurbate.

This mix is filled with tracks that make you energized and ready to move. A lot of genre jumping and blends of tracks as well as sickening drops. This has been my gym playlist lately and it really gets me in the zone to push, pull, squat, and run.

I was invited to take over the airways of Reform Radio for a 2 hour take over. This mix is a soundscape of genres discovered when visiting the UK. My intention was for my listeners to journey to different worlds with the time I had and take them on a ride of sounds from the genres of UKG, Jungle, and House all the while mixing in some of my favorite UK artists and local talents.
