Introducing the Brazilian Acuna to our label for the first time with his brand new single “Don’t Stop” (Feat. MC Spyda). Formerly part of Critycal Dub, Acuna has been building up a solid catalogue of releases with slapping basslines on Chronic and V Recordings of late. You only have to listen to “Get High” with our family member A Little Sound to hear the carnage an Acuna chorus can cause.

Linking up with the legendary MC Spyda – a man responsible for vocals on hits including “Balaclava” with SHY FX and D Double E and “All Ganja Man” with Serum – there’s no doubt in our minds that “Don’t Stop” is going to be certified anthem we hear throughout clubs and festivals this year.

Today’s a big day for Born On Road. We welcome our 100th release on the label, and it couldn’t be more fitting for it to be Selecta J-Man - an artist who has been on this crazy, wonderful journey with us since the early days. 

Introducing “Rude Boy Ting" - a track you will have most likely thrown a gun finger or two at while watching Born On Road sets over summer. It’s a seriously rude whopper and it’s ready to blast sound systems far and wide.

Summer is the season for shellers, and we’ve just received a nuclear weapon from our very own Carashelly. You may have heard this dub setting off levels in our sets recently. Linking up with Crossy, “Transmitter” is a guaranteed rave stomper with Carasel’s wicked lyrics and Crossy’s immaculate production. But what more did you expect? Getting these two members of the Born On Road family together on a release was always going to be mega – and it’s made even more special by it being Carasel’s first on the label (who would have thought!) Born on Road is a Bristol-based record label and DJ collective firmly rooted at the heart of drum and bass and jungle’s underground music scene. Since being established in 2013, we’ve built a reputation as an eclectic outfit known for pushing good music. It doesn’t matter if it’s jungle, jump up, ragga or some sublime vocal work, if we vibe with it then we’ll champion it to the masses.

This is an attitude born from our history in the underground music scene, where the free-flowing energy of sound system culture formed the foundations of the label’s all-inclusive ethos. It’s the reason why we’ve quickly grown into a sprawling music family who all support one another’s careers. From stage takeovers at festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury, to signing the most exciting homegrown talents, Born on Road are always looking for ways to drive forward the underground scene, along with the artists inside it.

We may be a new wave music label, but we adopt the old school approach of putting the music first before anything else. This journey has been an eventful one so far, but there’s still plenty more to come on the road ahead.
