Killa Dubz, a label known for it’s brash, unfiltered jungle music is back once again with a non stop supply of real music for the underground. This time taking onboard Veak and his ‘Born In The Jungle’ EP. Expect a ton of hard hitting Amen beats and bass as this Serial Killaz offshoot sends fe de hacksaw.

The EP’s title track ‘Born In The Jungle’ sets the tone firmly and cranks up the roughneck dial to 11. Combining an onslaught of metallic vocal loops and risers, this is Amen devastation at its finest and will no doubt fit right at home at your next squat party or warehouse rave.

‘Coca Cola Bottle Shape’ links some very known lyrics with ‘94 breakbeat flavours, mixes it all together and outputs a very distinctive riddim that screams nothing short of a jungle anthem for 2017. One for the ladies crew!

Talking of anthem, just wait for ‘Shadow’ to unleash! A total war tune filled with more snare rolls than a 60 minute set from Grooverider in ‘93. The beat programming on this tune is certainly something else.

Finishing the EP with ‘Veak and Vini Selecta’, a somewhat self titled tune, once again aimed at the dancefloor. Amens, Amens and more Amens all chucked together at various pitches alongside that deep sublow bass which sends warning shots left, right and centre.

Veak has really raised the bar for proper jungle production with not a jolly, bouncy breakbeat in sight. Rough, rugged and raw from start to finish.

Next up on Born On Road, we present an absolute rinse out 6 track EP from True Tactix, two junglists (Skinzy and High Hertz) we discovered on road in Spain. Originally from the UK, these guys have been really busy in the studio recently stacking up the heat, and we’re really hyped to drop their debut EP on the label. Full of serious artillery that guarantees to get any dance floor firing on all cylinders! True Tactix Provide A great blend of Dub, heavy basslines and crisp tear out jungle breaks that show these boys are not a force to be messed with!

The new year is upon us, and unsurprisingly, Run Tingz are hitting it with a rough and ready release that is sure to get dancefloors jumping.

Jago and Deemas J join the ranks for the inaugural edition in the ‘Run Tingz Foundation’ series - a new collection of artist led EPs that has been curated to showcase some of the unquestionable talent that the Jungle and Reggae scenes have to offer. First up is the ‘Rogue Elements EP’ which features a wicked collection of original vocal material alongside the production talents of Mexico’s Isaac Maya, the Run Tingz Cru themselves, Jinx, the Bristol badman Subcriminal & Earl Bassline.

Both Jago and Deemas J are held with considerable esteem across the underground music industry, working alongside well-known artists such as Manudigital and Dirty Dubsters, as well as acquiring combined support from the likes of David Rodigan, Hugh Morgan (BBC Radio 6 Music) and Ras Kwame (Capital Xtra), to name but a few.

With both artists coming from a Reggae influenced background, the progression to working on a Jungle / Drum & Bass EP with Run Tingz seemed only natural. They follow in the footsteps of some of the Jungle scene’s leading vocal talent, and are setting clear intentions by collaborating with the Bristol based imprint.

Born on Road is a Bristol-based record label and DJ collective firmly rooted at the heart of drum and bass and jungle’s underground music scene. Since being established in 2013, we’ve built a reputation as an eclectic outfit known for pushing good music. It doesn’t matter if it’s jungle, jump up, ragga or some sublime vocal work, if we vibe with it then we’ll champion it to the masses.

This is an attitude born from our history in the underground music scene, where the free-flowing energy of sound system culture formed the foundations of the label’s all-inclusive ethos. It’s the reason why we’ve quickly grown into a sprawling music family who all support one another’s careers. From stage takeovers at festivals including Boomtown and Glastonbury, to signing the most exciting homegrown talents, Born on Road are always looking for ways to drive forward the underground scene, along with the artists inside it.

We may be a new wave music label, but we adopt the old school approach of putting the music first before anything else. This journey has been an eventful one so far, but there’s still plenty more to come on the road ahead.
