Spanish DJ and producer DJ Cocodil debuts on CZ with the superb three tracker Jubileo. A world renowned artist in Techno, House and Deep House, DJ Cocodil has a long musical career behind him, in just over 6 years he has released a raft of top quality cuts on various labels including Sandy Records, Ibiza Music, Azucar Distribution, Infected Audio and Balian Records to name just a few. He has also remixed a plethora of prestigious international artists that have gained him a lot of respect amongst his peers. Delighted to have him on board at CZ.

First up we have Expression which takes us deep into the house music abyss with a surreal, experimental style that becomes infectious right off the bat. The intro boasts a steady pulsing note to the backdrop of eerie FX and a haunting pad. A retro style chord stab breaks through the deeper elements and teases us for the duration. That eerie vibe continues as a superb low end bass comes through to dominate the sound taking the groove even deeper. An array of cool FX and sound textures are present giving this one a movie score kinda feeling. Top notch stuff.

Jubileo intros with a cool, bright and crispy hi hat alongside a slow pulsing pad. Tribal style drums fade in before a monster kick drum takes over to deliver us deep into the groove. On the low end a sub rattling bass gets into full effect with chest pounding force. The track takes on a dark persona that locks us in thanks to that fantastic kick drum and the bassline. The percussions create a solid rhythm helped along by cool vocal shots. A definite must have track for sure.

Mother Fucker sets off with a somewhat subdued kick drum and subtle hat combi before the lower frequencies are let loose on the kicks creating a solid pumping beat. Percussions start to form up and a cool rhythmic flow develops. Expertly crafted FX and a very cool synth line add textured layers keeping the groove deep. The bass bins will certainly get a work out when the bass drops on this one so be prepared for the floors to shudder. Throughout the track a low spoken vocal delivers a few lines to add a dark character to the sound. Superb stuff that will be a welcome addition to those late night sessions.

Following on from his Anjunadeep Explorations debut last summer, emerging German DJ/producer Ben Böhmer returns to the label for his first solo outing with a trio of melodic weapons on ‘Morning Falls EP’. The EP opens with the rolling melodies of ‘Morning Falls’ before drifting into peak time club cut ‘After Earth’. Böhmer rounds off the EP with the laid back grooves of ‘Velvet Rebellion’ which also features his friend and frequent collaborator Wood.

During the day whilst the sun shines and people sit back and relax on the loungers the resident DJ's provide gorgeous laid-back beats and chilled vibes to provide the ultimate Blue Marlin experience. At night, Blue Marlin opens it's doors to a selection of Guest DJ's and performers to get the real party started with appearances from Little Louie Vega, Goldfish, Wally Lopez, Chuckie and Barbara Tucker to name a few. 

For volume 7, Blue Marlin have really pulled out all the stops, giving us 2 discs each with a distinctly different flavour, but still retaining that cool Blue Marlin vibe. Disc 1 is full of great deep house cuts that provide a taste of nights at the club, standout tracks being the Luna City Express remix of Marcos In Dub’s Mama Said and Pachanga Boys timeless Time. Disc 2 is more chilled and features stunning tracks from James Welsh and Prins Thomas’ remix of James Yuill’s This Sweet Love. The album will be heavily promoted across social media by Blue Marlin’s label partner Cr2 Records, and will be advertised extensively at the club itself.
