New Orleans' bad boys DAYTONA 83 make their debut to Bottom Forty with the naughty & everlasting "Frequency Theory".The title track "Frequency Theory" cruises endlessly with its tricky contortions and flexible arrangement comprised of gritty stabs and maniacal sub bass. LA's hard groove maverick & Perfect Dark label boss Freeman 713 has his way with "Frequency Theory", recontextualizing the vision with some hypnotic yet frantic percussion. Lil Art Hoe strips it all back with a shroomy cerebral approach, edging on ceremonial.

American electronic duo Cid & Fancy are an anti-establishment production outfit dabbling in the dark arts of analog to digital production. Their sound has been described as "raw," "unfinished," "naïve," "overly-complicated," and even "pretty good." The act consists of Futurewife (Venice, CA), Rob Hanlon (Seattle, WA), and sometimes DJ ShmeeJay (Port Angeles, WA). 

Their first EP with Bottom Forty carries a late night beach dub vibe with chugging synths and soft airy voices. The Vrtual and Gotta Get It tracks tug on nostalgia while the twirling Cam remix brings Gotta Get It into an active dance floor track.

Berlin-based Doc Sleep's debut EP on Bottom Forty is a record that pulls no punches and plays no tricks; it is instead a sophisticated, gorgeous array of minimal techno inspired by the darkest of dance floors. Doc Sleep's ear for sound and rhythm set the tone for your moments of eyes-shut dancing, giving you the chance to hang onto every subtle but flawlessly executed fragment of noise.

“First Solar” opens up with a contrasting blend of dark, rolling hills of bass and bright pads that quickly pick up a dangerous amount of momentum. The moment the track “Between” pounds its first kick, you can't help but be immediately sucked in by Doc Sleep’s ear for sophisticated, minimal, beautifully engineered sounds. Between is a track that stays on its groove while soft gorgeous pads pass over you like waves, it's the perfect time for patrons of a dingy basement dance floor to connect in the dark. Lastly, “Ampere” is a track that lays out a solid techno soundscape that is mixed up at the listeners surprise with heavily reverb’d snare hits and brooding sweeps. 

On the B side, two remixers bring Doc Sleep's EP into a different dimension. Bottom Forty label head @Nark extracts the gorgeous pads and pulls them to the forefront of “Between”, starting with a long ethereal intro sure to stop and sway any dance floor before continuing into a grimy minimal 303 bass line as the subtle rubs to Doc Sleep's original sounds lend it an exasperated grinding element. The second remix from Bottom Forty artist @CidandFancy takes “Ampere” into a place of rhythmic organized chaos with synth stabs that shoot off like metal sparks.

Our third remix, a digital only exclusive available for free download on soundcloud.com/bottomforty after February 27th, comes from forthcoming Bottom Forty Berlin-based artist La Fraicheur. We love @La-Fraicheur for her emotionally rooted and minimal grooves, and she doesn’t dissapoint with her take on “First Solar”, a driving, linear rhythm with unexpected analog twists and turns and the most heated breakdown on the record that we’ve personally witnessed energize many Berlin dance floors into a dancing frenzy.

Argentinian DJ and producer @shittechno delivers his ‘Solo En La Pista’ EP on Seattle’s @BottomForty Records this June, accompanied by remixes from Ali X x Ximena and Fausto.

A renowned event series and DJ collective formed in Seattle, comprising of artists Nark, Pavone, Sappho and Hyasynth, Bottom Forty has rapidly established itself as one of the cities key names within underground dance music through their carefully curated, fully inclusive warehouse events and forward thinking parties. Having released their fifth EP on the newly formed label in mid-2017, here we see the imprints first release of 2018 delivered by Buenos Aires raised producer Nicholas Larransio, aka SHIT, in the process welcoming the first EP in a series set to focus on unearthing and showcasing the ever developing sounds of South America, with remixes courtesy of Mexican talents Ali X & Ximena, and fellow countryman Fuasto.

‘Elle Quiere Ser Raro’ takes things into darker territories, with a hypnotic and entrancing lead synth guiding programmed 909 drum shots and eerie chants throughout, unveiling a production made for hazy, early morning dance floors.

Chile’s Alisú joins Bottom Forty Records to release three hypnotic cuts entitled ‘Rompiente’ EP including a remix from In Flagranti.

Alisú is a producer and graphic designer from Viña del Mar, Chile who started her musical journey when founding her Manziping project back in 1998. 
Alisú released her first solo album on the Chilean imprint Imprar in 2007 and has since gone on to release on labels such as Tropic, Yukiyaki, Pueblo Nuevo and her Modismo label. 
Her productions naturally balance a combination of ambient soundscapes, field recordings and rhythmic grooves which can also be heard in her performances all over South America. 
Alisú’s ‘Rompiente’ EP sees her join the Bottom Forty Records family following releases from Doc Sleep, Leonard De Leonard, La Fraicheur, Ali X x Ximena, SHIT and Cid & Fancy.

‘Cyberspace’ gets things rolling with resonating bass rhythms, alleviating melodies and fluttering percussion before ‘Rompiente’ delivers dubbed-out sound design floating around scattered drums and warming vocals to form meditative atmospheres throughout.

‘Wake Up’ then fuses crunchy modulations, pulsating low frequencies and weaving synth pads until In Flagranti, the Swiss duo with releases on Codek Records and Phantasy Sound finish with a low slung remix of ‘Rompiente’ as the rolling bass grooves bounce delicately off hypnotic tones and deep riding percussion.
