“Impermanence” is the first independently-released single by Portland, OR-based DJ and producer silversound.

Nineties house piano, dubby synth stabs, and a bubbling bassline ride a swishy 909 beat, accented by giddy snare rolls and a snarling Reese bass.

The title, inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön, honors the acceptance of impermanence as a fact of life, and the gratitude for life’s preciousness that arises from that acceptance.

S'aint Panic is a genre-defying creative project by Cedric Antonio, a multi-disciplinary artist born in Baltimore with over 16 years of performance experience and 10 years in production and nightlife curation in New York City. Cedric has honed their craft in building cinematic worlds through sound, focusing on amplifying the stories of Queer and QTPOC artists and communities. Their sound, influenced by Experimental Electronic, House, Vogue Beats, Baltimore Club, and Black Melodic Techno, reflects this mission. Recent DJ appearances include Nocturnal Emissions, Function, Nowadays, and Deep Roots Pride. For The Lovers... September 2024 Closing Set

We continue our six week run of weekly SORRYMIXs with an absolute barnstormer set from "singer, seamstress, dj, and party girl" Maenad (@alana_maenad) recorded live from 7am to 10am at @tossdbk in Brooklyn back in July. 

I met Alana on the internet back when she was living in Pittsburgh. We bonded early over Jimmy Buffett, house history, and big vocal dance tracks. She's since relocated to New York City and I've really enjoyed getting to know her and her boyfriend Gabriel ever since. We did a super fun episode of BOYDZONE together on @8-ballradio but I had somehow never seen her DJ for a crowd until this set that just destroyed me it was so good 😊

tossd is a really killer new-ish DIY party run by Will Jack (@willjackthedj) and Perfect Health (@perfecthealth) that has been putting together some super sweet and intentional local focused lineups lately that are a real treat. I was thoroughly impressed by the scope and attention to detail of their party and absolutely blown away by Alana's joyous butt movin powerhouse of a set, paired with great sound, wicked lighting by pal @violet_flux, and a much appreciated padded dancefloor. Many thanks to Will and Gio for being down to let us host this recording as well - highly encourage supporting tossd's future parties (got one on 9.28 with a sick lineup! https://ra.co/events/2001450).

N.D.S.F. is the serendipitous collaboration between Bottom Forty’s creator @Nark, Friends With Benefits Records label honcho @davidsylvester, and soon-to-be LA-based producer powerhouse @futurewife. Weaving samples of their favorite records into original songwriting, “Fine On Your Own” is a seemingly light-hearted house track that turns deep, with a pounding yet cosmic 303 that beats on your chest while the vocal samples keep your spirits high. By the end of the breakdown, the infectious melody of “Fine On Your Own” has worked it’s way into your head, and you’ll find yourself dancing to it all night long.

While the original track synthesizes each producer’s style, the accompanying remixes transform “Fine On Your Own” into each individual artist’s world of dance music. Nark’s remix brings “Fine On Your Own” into the dark, vibrating basements where industrial subtleties make their return into techno, whereas David Sylvester’s mix juxtaposes the acidic and atmospheric elements of the original, tying them together with dubbed out synth stabs, and finally Futurewife’s mix pulls "Fine On Your Own" into the climax of a party rocking set with its driving nu-disco vibe.
