"Guided by my penchant for escapism, I chose to let the songs on this mix air out and fully breathe. No need for quick mixes when you’re on a New Island. Kicking off the mix with the elusive and mysterious duo Rare Times, I chose the Coolwater Mix of their track “No Ones Looking Out” for its dubby goodness then lead into “Summer body” by Manuel Darquart which has a magnetic bassline, surrounded by lush synthesizers and catchy backing vocals. I had to include Mexico City sweethearts Shiro Schwarz with their track “Burnin’ Inside” which is a fiery groove, then cool it off with some creole soul by David Walters and his latest cut “Kryé Mwen (Patchworks Remix)”. Finishing the mix is the ethereal keypella of “Dreamin’ of you” by Social Lovers, sending you off into a sun-kissed, definitive trip."
