Pette Shabu is a trans rapper and DJ from Quezon City who dabbles first with her fondness for creative writing, evolving to songwriting and performing, leaning into experimental and alternative hip hop. She also plays at club nights as a DJ, using sounds of hard groove and hard house centered on fast percussion and bass, allowing for a double-time pacing of movement that works as cardio and exercise. She started to perform with the queer underground party (Elephant), who deeply inspired her.
