Independent, eclectic, family friendly and host to some bass thumpin' rave sheds. Nozstock caters for festival goers of all types, from the veteran festival aficionado through to those newly affected by the festival bug. It has evolved from a gathering of 50 friends into an intimate musical odyssey joining the dots between pop, ska, folk, funk, soul, indie, drum’n’bass, psytrance, house and a whole lot more. It is now firmly established as one of the country’s leading boutique festivals. 

The Orchard Stage is set at the foot of a natural arena on the side of the gently sloping valley. Alongside the farmhouse is the Garden Stage, which provides a more eclectic lineup, turning electronic by sundown whilst a converted cowshed, the Cubicles, pushes out sub-thumping bass and dubstep through to the early hours.

The festival is truly home-grown and hand-made – quite literally in fact, with a small army of grass roots supporters helping to create the wonderfully themed environment each summer. Nozstock is the quintessentially British festival – a little bit eccentric, a lot of fun, full of wonder, enchantment… and a touch of magic.

Mike Rhead is a singer songwriter that hails from Leek, Staffordshire. Influenced largely by his father’s extensive record collection, leaning heavily towards the likes of JAMES TAYLOR, BONNIE RAITT and JACKSON BROWNE. His father Steve is one half of the RHEAD BROTHERS, who in the 1970’s recorded albums in the UK/ USA in muscle shoals.
Mike has worked and recorded with producer and touring musician Tim Bradshaw (David Gray, John Mayer) and covered guitar duties for Tim with AFROCELT SOUNDSYSTEM at their 2015 headlining set at the HEBRIDEAN CELTIC FESTIVAL.
Mike has contributed guitar and backing vocals to the albums “MOTHER TOWN HALL” and “MIDLAND LULLABIES” by British singer songwriter BILL PRITCHARD; also accompanying Bill throughout his recent tours of Germany and France.
Playing Bass with Stoke-on-Trent’s STRAWBERRY BREAK, Mike met fellow band member, producer and musician SCOTT RALPH (Robbie Williams, Franz Ferdinand, Rudimental), who along with Bill Pritchard has produced Mikes new EP at CoalHaus Studios.
This is a collection of personal and melodic songs with strong vocal performances and unique guitar playing; featuring Bill (backing vocals, organ),Tim (piano, string arrangements)and Scott (double bass, percussion and piano).

You might have seen us play on the BBC Introducing Stages at Looe Music Festival 2016 and The Little Orchard Cider Fest or The DEN at Cambridge Folk, Shrewsbury Folk, Oceanfest, Don't Wake The Fish, Sidmouth Fringe, Warwick Folk amongst others.  

We're signed to a small independent label/publisher/management team at Riverfish Music and work closely with record producer and songwriter Joe Dworniak.  This past year we've been recording new demos, practising and mostly gigging around Cornwall.

‘Call My Name’, released in July 2016 premiering our new sound.
