Roe Royal is a hip-hop artist and music producer who evolved with the tutelage of his group 'The Royal Family' and has received fame for albums such as 'The Declaration', 'Death Before Dishonor' and 'We Comin'.
 
Who is Roe Royal?
 
Illinois rapper and record producer, Roe Royal has come a long way by turning his dreams to reality to become an influential rapper. As impressive as it is to play the saxophone in 3rd grade, joining the school band and majoring in Pre-Medical, it was obvious that he would go on to gain global fame.
 
Early Life
 
Roe Royal was born Romelle Smith on November 11, 1984, on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. Sadly, Roe had a turbulent childhood and spent 4 years in foster care and suffered abuse during his formative years. His biological father got custody of his children from foster care after a long legal battle.
 
Roe performed his first rap while he was on a family trip, he dazzled his cousin with his performance, he was only 7 years old then. After his father got addicted, he had a rough adolescence. Roe Royal turned to rap as an escape from the drugs, violence and law that surrounded him always. However, Roe struggled to keep himself out of trouble as he himself dealt with drugs, teased gun violence and missed several stints with death. It was at this point that he decided to pursue his passion for music.
 
His life seemed to bounce back when his friends encouraged him to rap on an open mic night. The rapper decided to pursue his passion for music after completing studies in Pre-Med from Chicago State University.  He proved himself to be highly skilled at verbal sparring and quickly became one of the most respected figures in the underground rap scene.
 
Hip-hop Career
 
His first hip hop scene was in 2009 in a school friend’s home studio outside Rockford which was an introduction to his rap parody to the local fans. In the June of that year, Reo released his debut album, ‘The Declaration'. Royal remained low profile until he and his group 'The Royal Family' founded their own record label 'Phoenix Crown Music Group' and released 2 more mixtapes, 'Death Before Dishonor' on March 2018 and 'We Comin' on Sept 2019.
