웃 In our episode five, we are thrilled to welcome the amazing artists @landhouse & @monika-zihler. This set was recorded during one of the last official nights at @lushplay . It was a night full of feelings, friendship and connection on the floor, and one Last Dance in a place that felt like ours for ever. The two waved through every emotion in the room — less a set, more a cleansing ritual; guided moments, a way to hold on and embrace the let go at the same time. 
Until spaces form to gather again, we are grateful for the wonderful music that remain with us, keeping the warm moments alive.

Magician On Duty & Dario Klein — 6 Hours 30 min, No Rules

On August 15th, 2026, Magician On Duty and Dario Klein returned to the booth for their third all-night back-to-back —  six and a half hours of music, movement, laughter and complete creative freedom.

What began as another night behind the decks quickly turned into something neither artist wanted to end. Seven hours disappeared almost unnoticed, carried by a constant exchange of energy between two friends, an open-minded crowd and a musical conversation that never needed a script.

“six hours and a half flew by without noticing. We had so much fun playing together and even though this is our 3rd time doing an all night back to back, I think this one was our best,” says Magician On Duty. “The track selection and our energy was in a constant flow, the laughter and the interaction with the crowd was beautiful.”

Dario Klein echoed the sentiment, equally pleased with how naturally the night unfolded and how deeply the music, the room and the two DJs connected.

There was no predetermined destination. The music moved wherever the moment demanded — left, right, back and forth, following instinct rather than structure. Tracks appeared that might never find their way into a conventional club or festival set, given the freedom that only a long, uninterrupted night can offer.

Three encounters. Seven hours. No plan.

Just two friends listening, responding, laughing and trusting the process.

Now, the recording opens the door to that night once again — an unfiltered document of what happens when the clock disappears and the music takes over.

Zwischen Sonne, Tanzfläche und Wasser entsteht ein wunderbarer Sommerflow, der uns für diesen Moment alles drumherum vergessen lässt. So lebt sich das Leben leicht.

Today we’re featuring the known Berlin downtempo artist Rakäthe, who’s been on our watch list for quite some time. We’re just huge fans of her groovy downtempo “Ketapop” style. We’re all the more thrilled that she’s treating us to a special Set recorded during this year’s CoZy Festival—a fascinating journey through the world of deep and hypnotic downtempo. She skillfully maintains the balance between tension and relaxation throughout. Slow tempos and deep soundscapes blend seamlessly here. In a word: Fascinating.

✘What is your musical background?
R:// I listen to a lot of music by other artists and let my emotions guide me. In the past, I used to play the clarinet, and at some point I discovered electronic music, which had a completely new effect on me—something I hadn’t experienced before. Downtempo, in particular, really resonates with me because I’ve often felt in my life that I’m ticking to a different rhythm than the world around me.

✘ What makes good "afterhour"?
R:// Friendly people and everyone who’s already had some wonderful experiences the night before or in the days leading up to this—and who, because of that, can best enjoy the moment without expectations, taking plenty of time to savor good music (preferably slow) and the moment itself. I sometimes feel that vibe is like a simmered soup that’s had plenty of time to develop its flavor :)

✘ Any thoughts you'd like to share about your set?
R:// Get comfortable, whether you're alone or in good company, and just relax. Or groove along to the music—either way, make sure you have a good time.

✘ For gig recordings: How did you feel about the gig?
R:// It was a huge honor for me to play the after-hours set on Monday afternoon at CoSy—especially in front of the two after-hours icons, Ninze and Niju. Unfortunately, I was dealing with PMS3000 that day, which is why my day got off to a bit of a rocky start. But when I finally got to play my favorite music at 2 p.m. in warm summer weather for people who were really into downtempo, my day completely turned around. It was truly a special set for me because I dedicated a moment to the recently deceased musical genius Nico Stojan—a moment that moved me so deeply that I actually had to cry while DJing… But I felt so at ease with the crowd that it wasn’t even awkward; it was just such an incredibly moving and special moment. I want to thank all the sweethearts in the crowd for your commitment to taking a little ride with Rakäthe and really feeling it. The fact that you open yourselves up and let yourselves go means so much to me <3 Thank you for this wonderfully groovy, fun, and moving after-hour! 🚀

Für Tiefcast #11, aufgenommen beim 10-jährigen Jubiläum von @downvienna im gART.n Berlin, haben die beiden nochmal tief in der Teilchenkiste gekramt. Hört selbst und lasst es euch schmecken 😋🥐

Wie seid ihr dazu gekommen, elektronische Musik im Downtempo-/Midtempo-Bereich zu spielen?

Wir haben vor Jahren eine Zeit lang in Istanbul gewohnt, in der wir super viel melodischen Downtempo gehört haben. Zurück in Berlin haben wir bei Beate Barfuss und in der Bucht immer mehr den Downtempo lieben gelernt – und diese Liebe ist bis heute geblieben ;)

Welche Gedanken oder Gefühle verbindet ihr mit diesem Gig?

Das war die „10-jährige Geburtstagsparty“ von unserem Lieblings-Label down. in der Berliner Open-Air-Wohlfühllocation gART.n. Zu diesem Anlass wollten wir mal wieder die Oldies rauskramen, die wir früher gerne gehört haben. Und es zeigte sich: Der Sound funktioniert noch immer und macht total Spaß. Wir freuen uns, dass das Set beim Tiefcast ein Downtempo-Zuhause gefunden hat 💜
