For mix #365 in our series, we're delighted to bring you this mix from Boxia!

Boxia is an artist whose outlook is heavily influenced by years spent on the dancefloors of clubs across the UK and overseas.

His multi-faceted approach to music allows him to channel his creativity through a number of styles, maintaining a playful, inventive and often experimental output. 

Boxia is hard working and friendly, with a positive attitude. A rare breed who is driven by the essence of rave culture - that is: human connection, freedom of expression and the positive power of music. Keeping a smile on his face and the dancefloor jumping every step of the way.

Next week (Friday 10th September) sees Boxia play at Club69 in Paisley for Bassment and will be playing Electric Soup on the 18th September.

We've been in touch with Scott for around 5 years and in that short space he has delivered a wildly good body of work.

Boxia’s multi-faceted approach to music allows him to channel his creativity through several styles, maintaining a playful, inventive, and often experimental output. His debut release for Kneaded Pains pulls together two killer tracks mastered at Luke Slater’s Spacestation Ø Studio.

Having released a slew of sophisticated tracks and remixes for esteemed labels such as World Of Nima, System Records, as well as running his own Outerworld imprint, Boxia is fast becoming a tour de force within the underground techno community. 

Shadowy and sub-aquatic vibes are captured on ‘Tama’, as Boxia goes deep into Detroit territory and pulls out a functional and classic sounding track. Title track ‘Sounds Of the Subway’ goes on a hypnotising journey as brain scrambling tones are coerced out of a prime slice of shuffling and energetic techno.

The last release of the year on Apex Faction imprint sees label head Alan Fitzpatrick collaborate with prolific UK producer Boxia on ‘IHEARTPARIS’.

A home for Alan’s love of electronica; Apex Faction sees the Southampton producer explore his more experimental side, releasing tracks under his own 3STRANGE alias, alongside stellar productions from the likes of Modeā, Scuba, dj poolboi, Theo Kottis, Dwarde and Tim Reaper.

This latest single is Fitzpatrick’s first outing on the label since his debut in 2019. Alan is joined by Boxia, a Bristol based artist renowned for his releases on Drumcode, We Are The Brave and Kneaded Pains.
