Since Kyle moved out of South Africa there's been a hole in the country - a hole left to be filled with gritty, bass-driven house music. Who's going to fill this gap you ask? Well we think we may have the answer: Advent! These tracks are so big we had to FedEx them to Australia. We even had to pay full postage upfront, but it was worth it. 

The lead track Fear has been tried and tested by the BOC crew over the past 6 months and it slammmss! It's one of those records that fills the dance floor. The flip Take It Slow is a chunky fidget-esque record straight from the blog house era. As the A1's may know, we get rather randy when the word 'fidget' gets mentioned. 

Advent has a real knack for writing fun, quirky yet danceable records and we are so happy to nurture his return!

Advent - Take It Slow (BOC164)

The recipe for a great compilation: 

Step 1. 
Mix two cups of dopeness, 300ml of sizzle and a knob of butter into a large mixing bowl (be sure not to overmix). 

Step 2. 
Create a hole in the bottom of the mix and use a sieve to add 3 tablespoons of greatness. 

Step 3. 
Using your fingers, slowly massage the mix until it feels thicc and consistent. No lumps should remain. 

Step 4. 
Preheat the oven to 420 and pour the compilation mixture out onto a baking tray. 

Step 5. 
Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. 

Once cooled, feel free to consume the entire compilation with your friends in one sitting Leave no leftovers. 

Litterbox 14 tastes great, sounds great and should be shared. Be greedy!

Case Of The Mondays & Thomas Anthony - Dancefloor 30s (BOC166)

Cued up for the second release on the new imprint No Context is this spicy number from Kyle Watson featuring London-based South African-based artist Evida.

There's a story behind this one. Originally written as part of a separate project, Lost went through eight (yes, eight) previous versions. Rewritten so many times that Kyle apparently started humming it in his sleep, Lost is the perfect example of why you should never give up on those older projects.

Fully embracing the 'works at home as well as in the club' ethos of No Context, Lost is a crossover record anchored around an attention-grabbing fluttering synth. Tight writing and vocal delivery from Evida only elevates the record and is the icing on an already sweet cake. This one feels like an evolution in Kyle's sound, and personally we love to hear it.

Alright, it's a goosebump moment here at BOC and we really struggling to contain ourselves here. Firstly, let's welcome to the fold Aaron Jackson and Mac Milo. 

This is one of those write ups where we don't want to say too much, and instead just want you to listen. The lead track 'Storm' is one of those records that creates moments upon moments, layered with some moments on the side. Big chords & leads intertwine themselves around brooding basses and euphoric vocal pads. We know that tracks don't always need a vocal to stand out, and this one of those tracks! We're in love! 

You'd expect an actual B-side when you hear the flip 'The Haunt', but you don't get one. It's there alright, but it just feels like another single. This club spanker is absolutely littered with fun, dark energy, and really takes us back to when labels like This Ain't Bristol first emerged. A perfect blend of emotion and dance floor steez. 

These 2 records will be mainstays in our DJ sets for a long time to come! Welcome Aaron & Mac!

Aaron Jackson & Mac Milio - Storm (BOC167)

What do Vegas and this new release from Cazztek have in common?? They’re both hot and sweaty and filled with good times (we’ll leave the part about bad decisions out of this) 

To be honest we’ve always been a fan of Cazztek’s crunchy and hard hitting records here at BoC, and we think the time has come for him to make his way over to our HQ. 

Kiss Like This is about as A side as it gets and packs more heat than a hot day out on the strip. Vocal > Chunk > Big Build > Slick Drop > repeat. This bouncy number revolves around its dubbed acid bass with enough audio sprinkles to cover your next festival bling top to bottom. The flip Party Nonstop takes a few steps backwards and lets the groove rule the space. Both of these are built for the clubs, and we recommend enjoying them as such. 

They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? We disagree… Frothing to have the guy join us, let’s go!!!

Cazztek - Kiss Like This (BOC173)

You ever get in trouble from your school teacher and you're forced to apologise but you aren't actually sorry? That exact feeling perfectly encapsulate this release. Is Ocean Roulette actually sorry? I doubt it. We’ve met him and he's not that kinda guy. 

We are SUPER proud to welcome Ocean back onto BOC with his biggest release with us to date! 3 unforgiving hitters straight up built for the dance floor. 

Championing the pack is the headliner 'Sorry About That'. It's like Beethoven took LSD and started banging his head on the piano. On the B-side we have a groove emotive number Lookin At Me. This tune is super unique and we can already feel this one smacking the afters. Finishing off the EP is undoubtedly the secret weapon of the package. Beethoven just got his first synthesiser, tweaked the resonance to eleven and just went ham! 

There's no doubt Ocean Roulette continues to be one to watch, with this EP covering so much ground and energy all in one.

Where our dogs at?? We have no idea, and frankly we do not care. 

Since the battle of Catius-Dogius 24 AD, we have been sworn enemies of the Good-Boy-Kind, keeping our space and hissing to any that approach. We hold one thing near and dear and that is our fellow cats, our brethren that hold similar values and enjoy the taste of canned fish. 

Today we are celebrating these very cats with another instalment of our BOT compilation. A mini taste-testing dish of what BOC is all about! 

This time around we have some of our fav BOT tracks to date. Mz Worthy, Max Kaluza & TRND top the package with 2 bass heavy heaters, while Mitch Dodge & Hotfire swing through with their signature SD flavour. Chasing those we have one of our BOC favourites Rob Marion, who has teamed up with Good Neighbor for a wonky house jam. Rounding out the package is a super unique one that’s a touch different, but gives off all the right emotions. Welcome, newcomer TDR!!

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present to you our first release born from our humble Nine Lives Club!

We launched our subscription service not only to benefit the artists that are already on the label, but to help nurture up and coming artists and prepare them to release music on our label! Vissex is the first one up to the plate!

The lead track Hello? is this quirky little ring-dinga with jackin' drums drenched in telephone references. For anyone out there thinking of using telephone samples in a dance record, this is the blueprint. All Of Me, the flip, is a bit on the deeper side for Vissy, showing his depth as a producer and as an upcoming artist to keep an eye on.
