BACKGROUND /

We won a competitive pitch to create the audio branding for the newly launched Sky Mix channel. Sky Mix provides a diverse offering, catering to a wide range of tastes and therefore the audio had a lot of ground to cover.

APPROACH /

We won a competitive pitch to create the audio branding for the newly launched Sky Mix channel. Sky Mix provides a diverse offering, catering to a wide range of tastes and therefore the audio had a lot of ground to cover.

The music is ambient and subtle, swelling as the windows rotate to give a sense of movement. The tonal character provides personality and cohesiveness across multiple idents to help establish the channel’s identity. The instrumentation is organic, positive and rounded to align with the overarching Sky brand.

The sound design focuses on activity in the central window. With such short windows of time and for the sake of clarity, we found a more literal approach most effective. However, subtle filter and delay effects were applied to assist evolution and transition throughout the ident. As the first window opens, we have implemented a subtle window/door opening sound. Conceptually, we wanted to imply that we are opening a window to a whole world of content.

Project: 10KTF: The Kaiju's Problem

BACKGROUND /
This film marks our sixth collaboration with 10KTF Shop, and the latest instalment in an epic and ever-expanding narrative that started with a shopkeeper and his cat. In an alternate angle on a previous story, we learn not to judge a Kaiju by it's big ugly face.

APPROACH /
We took a music focused approach to the soundtrack, where a classic film score style was incorporated, inspired by the likes of the great film composer John Williams. Each phrase speaks of the emotions at play and guides us through the so-called Kaiju's journey. Echoes of the original 10KTF musical theme (conceived in our original collaboration with The Line and 10KTF) is woven into the composition to stay true to the brand. Sound design remains mostly light, allowing space for the music to tell the story and only muscling in when things get heavy.

ABOUT /
‘GRASSROOTS’ is a short film following the trials and tribulations of life as an unused substitute. Watch as an eager Baz turns up every weekend to play Sunday League football with his mates. There’s just one problem - he’s not very good. But what he lacks in ball skills, he makes up for with enthusiasm, determination and commitment. Carrying equipment, cheering the lads on, and running the line are just a handful of the sideline tasks Baz has perfected.

Desperate to play and keen to make an impression, he spends his weeks counting down the minutes until kick off. As the weeks roll by (and his kit remains clean) we witness his pre-match prep spiral. Expect to see a few pints down his local, a night on the tiles, a trip to ‘Towers of Kebablon’, and a lengthy pit stop in the bathroom!
Will this loveable Brit ever get the nod? Or will he keep that bench warm forever?


APPROACH /
The project features a soundtrack that captures the essence of the 90s UK garage scene, incorporating MC chatter and a lively club beat. The track grows with the intensity of the edit and guides the audience through the world of the main character, Baz. As things heat up the music is seamlessly integrated into the sound design, flipping between diagetic and non-diagetic perspectives as Baz's grasp on reality begins to slip.

For an authentic touch, the ambient sounds of a main football field were recorded binaurally by visiting Sunday League pitches, capturing a real sense of grassroots football. Additionally, the pub banter of the 5-a-side team, Atletico Wednesday, was recorded to maintain an authentic ambience of those shots. Lead voiceover recorded by our very own Chris Didlick and the lads chatter by the main gang of Ritzy animation studio.

ABOUT /

The 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup, with cricket reigning as the primary sport in India, generated immense anticipation. Instagram India thought to celebrate this event through creating a captivating animation that captures the profound influence of cricket in the daily fervor of Indian life. This animation aimed to depict the energy and passion that cricket instills in the hearts of the people. From lively streets adorned with local children's championships to the cozy moments of family bonding while watching the World Cup stream, the animation aimed to encapsulate the diverse and widespread impact of cricket across various facets of Indian society.


APPROACH / 

The soundtrack explores the convergence of modern and traditional elements by blending a lo-fi hip-hop inspired beat with sampled melodies of traditional Indian instruments. The sound design aims to strike a balance between realistic scenes, immersing the audience in the bustling atmosphere of an Indian city, and more anime-inspired sounds that accentuate the protagonist's journey of skill improvement in his beloved sport—a homage to anime training sequences.

Project: The First Metahuman

BACKGROUND /

Our good buddy, Director and CG artist Axl Le’s latest project, “The First Metahuman,” explores the concept of metahumans— copies of real humans that only exist in the digital world. Unlike real humans, metahumans are not born and they don’t die. Although they function a lot like game avatars, the aim of the metahuman is to pose as a real human. Many are developed to function as representatives, models, actors, influencers, etc.

In an era where societal pressures around beauty and perfection are already intense, metahumans introduce a new, even more unattainable standard. They are not bound by the limitations of reality and often have no original form. This project serves as a social commentary on the growing tension between human societal pressures and the rise of these flawless digital counterparts, blurring the perception of what is real and achievable.

APPROACH /

An unsettling and ambiguous score sets the tone for a seemingly utopian world. The arrival of the film title is punctuated by a startling, bold motif that runs throughout the film, marking each chapter and maintaining a sense of order amidst the chaos. In between chapters the soundtrack twists and turns, reflecting the mental state of our antagonist and even features a tongue in cheek representation of Maurice Ravel's Bolero.

Foley and cinematic immersive ambience establish the tone of real-world spaces we all recognise, while unconventional real-world textures are used for the more abstract scenes. Organic sounds are pierced by bold synthesised sound effects representing the distorted virtual world.

Project: Project Dragon

BACKGROUND /

Yuga Labs, creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, is launching a new NFT game, Project Dragon. This 3D action game is designed for large-scale team battles and will be available exclusively on Otherside, Yuga Labs’ metaverse gaming world. Set in the fictional city of Meetropolis, players are divided into two teams, Orange and Aqua, to engage in intense battles for Control Beacons scattered across the map. The objective is to deplete the opposing team’s beacon power to win. Meetropolis serves as a dynamic hub with various activities, including exploring mazes, relaxing on the beach, and capturing and defending control points.

APPROACH /

The music starts with a cheerful Sims 4-like atmosphere to emphasise the good times before transitioning to intense battle scenes with fast-paced aggressive EDM beats and a fuzzed bass line. The sound design, influenced by Adult Swim cartoons, combines traditional cartoon effects with adult action cinema elements. As the visuals incorporate more digital glitches, the sound design mirrors this with increasing distortion and glitch effects, reflecting the chaos of late stage capitalism gone mad.

CHALLENGE /
A game graphics showcase featured during Nvidia's keynote at CES 2025, highlighting the capabilities of Nvidia's latest technologies. The presentation demonstrated advanced visuals and performance, focusing on the future of gaming and interactive entertainment.

SOLUTION /
A cinematic score creates a dramatic and ethereal atmosphere, emphasizing the technological achievements showcased in hyper-realistic game renders. Subtle sound design complements the visuals, adding depth without overpowering the scenes.

CHALLENGE /
The animated 2D trailer introduces Bump! Superbrawl, the ultimate 1v1 action-strategy game. Set in the vibrant world of Arcadia, players build teams of heroes to compete in fast-paced, turn-based arenas. 

SOLUTION /
To build excitement and capture the fun nature of the game, the soundtrack is anchored by a dynamic music track featuring driving rock rhythm guitars and a prominent synth lead. This combination creates an exhilarating atmosphere for the battle scenes and an adventurous vibe for the team-building moments in the trailer. The sound design takes inspiration from action-style animation, bringing the featured characters to life. Each character’s powers are highlighted with a distinct sonic signature, adding depth and individuality to their portrayal.

Project: Genesis - XP Zero

CHALLENGE /
To capture the XP electric motorcycle’s radical design, the Form Films team collaborated with designer Hugo Eccles of UNTLD MOTO to create a film that balanced precision and energy. The goal was to reflect Eccles’ meticulous build process while showcasing the XP’s performance and sustainability. Centered around the concept of ‘Genesis,’ the film combined detailed studio shots with dynamic riding sequences to announce a bold new era in electric motorcycling.

SOLUTION /
The score blends analog synths with cinematic tones, driving momentum with a pulsing arpeggio. Ambient pads and melodic shifts add depth, evolving from minimal during the build to dynamic and expansive during the ride. Subtle ASMR detailing captures the tactile nature of each component, heightening the sensory experience. The result is a sonic world that feels precise, immersive, and emotionally charge
