'made of Concrete' family member Alek S rings in the 5th EP entitled 'Nightdrive', a four-track offering including a remix by Alex Bau. 

Title track 'Nightdrive' carries Alek S’s usual style, a dub-infused slice of catchy, scintillating techno. Alex Bau transforms it into a dark and daring number, filled with cavernous pads and menacing reverbs. 'Fastbreak' makes for a swift intro - steadfast bassline, acid-tinged leads and rave-reminiscing elements all intertwine into a dynamic title. Closing track 'Sunrise' rounds off the release in a composed and easygoing manner.

The ‘Artmosphere’ series was our first step into the world of Bandcamp’s supportive system for independent artists and labels, which previously featured re-releases of key tracks from our catalogue. We change course with 'Volume 3' to present fresh music from various artists across the underground music community.

Portugal-based Floating Machine commences the compilation with a slow-burn ethereal iteration of a label classic, ‘Vortex’ by key fort member, SHFT. This is followed by ‘Reverie’ by Rushil from Chandigarh,  an original that fuses hypnotic structures with deft guitar work. Soop from Sydney returns to the fort with ‘Enigma’- a smooth expedition that exhibits his take on deep & evolving textures. ‘Ozran’, the much-awaited return of the label founder Kohra, makes the wait well worth it, with his trademark grooves and psychedelic sound design. The penultimate track is offered by the A&R of the label, Vishal Unni, an original that explores paraphonic synthesis techniques melded with melodic & minimal techno influences. The ‘Safar’ collective founder, I7HVN, closes the compilation with a deep broken beat journey with an evocative sonic palette that stays true to the theme of this release.

Digital Haven reúne temas que se han producido en momentos muy diferentes, entre el 2015 y el 2024. Están en orden inverso: Cloud Strife es el más nuevo y Kupo el más antiguo. Los produje simplemente por el placer de producir, sin pensar en nada. Pero, precisamente, este placer y esta nada son la raíz del concepto de Digital Haven. Es la idea de un refugio, un “locus amoenus” formado de paz digital.

Esta idea puede, de hecho, extenderse a toda mi música, cuya escucha suele resultar reconfortante e introspectiva. El uso de sintetizadores analógicos y emulaciones fieles aporta calidez al sonido, mientras que los bajos ácidos, la percusión y los “breaks” nos recuerdan a sonidos clásicos de los noventa, con un enfoque actual. Digital Haven se mueve entre el acid techno y el house principalmente.
