Curated by Om Unit for his Cosmic Bridge imprint the compilation features tracks from the first wave of Cosmic Bridge artists and includes 3 collaborations with label head Om Unit.

In 2 short years Cosmic Bridge has released material from Om Unit, Kromestar and Boxcutter and has given us Moresounds, EAN and Danny Scrilla; who after making their debuts for the label have gone on to make waves.

Unifying the Cosmic Bridge sound the compilation features grime and dubstep kingpin Kromestar's blend of deep dubstep romance and road-raw sci-fi boogie, Moresound's digi-dub and soundsystem modulations, former Various Production lynchpin EAN's rapidfire darkstyles and deft footwork jungle chops, Boxcutter's lush fusions of Footwork and Electronica, Danny Scrilla's forays into the unnamed airspace between dreadnought dub, halftime footwork & O.G '06 Dubstep and two appearances from Keysound's experimentalist 140bpm updater Epoch.

Highlights include a VIP version on Danny's Scrilla legendary 'X', Danny's collab with Om Unit on 'Gentrification' featuring the unwitting Giles from Foxton's Estate agency in Brixton plus Om Unit's jungle referencing collab with Moresounds, the long waited release of Kromestar's highly sought dub 'V7STX' and Epoch's revisiting of Om Unit & Danny Scrilla's 'Hunch'.

Om Unit's A&R sensibilities and his focus in pushing boundaries show in Cosmology's curation. Representative the label's catalogue, the diversity of styles on show across these nine tracks is unified by the talent of the producers involved.

The Roy Apron project was started in 2012 via a handful of low-key Bandcamp releases. The aim being to fuse the atmospherics and production techniques of mid 1990s Drum and Bass to the frame of 130bpm bass music, specifically a more militant and stripped take on the UK Funky sound. We decided that a proper release of this material would be a great way to start Rival Turf and a chance to get the material remixed by some of our favourite new artists.

The two original tracks on the release, ‘Two Theories’ and ’Seckrit Lab’, modulate Mackie blown 808’s through EMU filters, layering them over the top of tightly chopped and reprogrammed breaks, one note pad samples and percussion. 

For the remix of ‘Two Theories' we asked one of our favourite new artists, Overlook, to take the track full circle back into 170bpm territory. His discography contains releases on some of the most forward thinking Drum and Bass labels including Doc Scott’s 31 Records and Samurai Music, but our introduction to his work was via the 2012 track ‘Three Shards’ on Blocks and Escher’s fantastic Narratives label. The track was a syncopated take on modern Drum and Bass, but with a strong feel of the same 90’s material that influenced the Roy Apron project. 

For the remix he takes ‘Two Theories’ and drags it on a wonderfully claustrophobic journey through the hull of an abandoned space cruiser, gradually building the atmosphere over minimalist half-time percussion and a system thumping, incessant bass line. 

Rounding up the release is the beatless ‘Ambience’ mix of Two Theories. This appeared on the original, but has been reworked for this rerelease. A perfect sound bed for any Sci-Fi horror hybrid movies you may be working on.

Early support coming from Blocks and Escher, who have included the Overlook remix in their Metalheadz podcast and Samurai Music’s Clarity, who included the remix in his recent mix for Drum and Bass Arena. The original tracks have received support from Toddla T, who has aired both on his Radio One show.

When was the last time you listened to an actual ‘mixtape’? You probably think of one of the many mixes inhabiting our digital social spheres, which you might give a quick click or a fast listen. Dutch Drum and Bass connoisseurs Lenzman & Dan Stezo go back in time with the launch of their ‘Soul Tape’, an actual 60 minute cassette tape meant for the discerning Drum and Bass lover.

The Soul Tape is a limited give-away. The hand-crafted package comes in a hard-cover box, with additional T-shirt and a variety of stickers - all with custom artwork by Team Blazin'. Besides that The Soul Tape is a ‘cool’ and fresh (but hyper-traditional) take on the mix-format, it stems from Lenzman and Dan Stezo's 90s ritual of making Hiphop tapes for each other in school.

The Soul Tape exhibits tracks from the world’s finest Drum and Bass artists, blended by Lenzman with Dan Stezo’s narrative slang and distinct voice-over. As a combination they have worked together since 2003, and recently increased their collaborative spirit both on stage and on record. 2014 saw their first release ‘Move & Focus’ together as a combination on the esteemed Metalheadz imprint as part of Lenzman's debut album 'Looking At The Stars.

Lenzman’s tremendous success in his genre and his tour the force around the world doesn't keep him from maintaining a close circle. Long time confidant Team Blazin' adds the artwork in the form of handwritten calligraphy which articulates the Hiphop aesthetics, the three artists’ connecting factor and their shared stylistic background.

The Soul Tape is not for sale, as it is an initiative out of love for the craft, the music and their heritage. The 50 limited edition tapes will be given away to fans over a period of time. Mike Delinquent is back with his first release of 2015 "Hype Ting" featuring the legendary Garage MC Neat, on his new label ZEUS SOUND RECORDS.

Following on from countless successful remixes and underground releases in recent years with artists such as Wiley, Wretch 32, Ms Dynamite, Sneakbo, Lady Leshurr, Mike is ready to continue releasing material with artists he admires.

"Hype Ting" draws on the versatility of Garage MC Neat, who hooked up with Mike lacing lyrics on this bass heavy speaker tearing instrumental. The collaboration somewhat sees Garage go full circle as one of the original MCs links up with a producer many associate with rubber stamping the modern Garage-influenced sound.
