We're honoured to introduce a new Friend for this episode of the &FRIENDS MIX SERIES: Boyd V. A DJ/producer with a deep love for funk, boogie, disco, and a diverse range of electronic music from across the globe. Boyd's musical adventures has always been a shared passion with his friends, stemming from their collective explorations into festival sounds, leading to the acquisition of DJ equipment, vinyl hunting, and production ventures. This shared enthusiasm fuels Boyd's dedication to creating dynamic sets that are not just about playing tracks but offering an experience—a blend of disco, jazz, funk, street soul, and house aiming to keep the dance floor alive and pulsating.

Inspired by the likes of Joe Claussell, Boyd V finds magic in records that mix jazz and funk with a rhythmic house undertone, creating sets that are as groove-filled as they are soul-touching. One such track, 'Ecstasy - Gotta Have You (Vocal Mix),' epitomizes the good vibes he aims to spread, a testament to his admiration for the groove-rich sounds of the '90s.

The recording of this mix, set in the cozy confines of his room in Amsterdam West, with the balcony doors ajar, a warm lamp over the turntables, and the floor covered with record sleeves, captures the essence of Boyd's passion for music.
