Swiss duo Psycho Weazel (@psycho-weazel) are back on Iptamenos Discos, this time with their very own EP ‘Mains d’argile’ which has a range of sounds from new wave, indie dance, Italo disco and house and features Curses (@cursesforever), Local Suicide (@localsuicide), as well as remixes from Marvin & Guy (@marvin-and-guy) and Rafael Cerato (@rafaelcerato).

The duo’s musical love story began at summer camp, where the two Swiss born musicians shared their playlists with one another. Sharing playlists led to sharing dreams, and so Psycho Weazel was born. A retrofuturistic electronic spectacle, their music blends indie-dance, cold wave and EBM. From their studio on the shore of Lake Neuchâtel, they have created an impressive catalogue of elegant and joyful dance music. Such infectious tracks can be heard lighting up dancefloors across the globe – ‘Mains d’argile‘ will be no exception.

The first single 'Mains d’argile' features New York born, Berlin based artist Curses who is hot off the heels of the Next Wave Acid Punx compilation he curated. Psycho Weazel describe the single: ‘a hymn to disappearance that turns into medicine for damaged partygoers’. The track is certainly godly with it’s transcendent intro – long, echoing and expansive, it sprays the listener with melancholic dew. Then drops into somewhere present, with tight drums and a strong synth melody, guided by Curses‘ haunting vocal. Layers of sounds that are both grounded and soaring, bridging the gap between heaven and earth. The track ends with a wailing lead guitar, who’s tone embodies a sense of longing and and escapism.

'Matra Murena’ is a 4x4 dance floor scorcher inspired by the car of the same name. Made with motor sounds, the nighttime track is filled with metallic textures. 80s reminiscent powerful synths and snappy drums propel the track forward in a continual state of motion. A perfect marriage of Psycho Weazel’s ethereal elegance with Local Suicide’s alluring darkness. The end of the track breaks into a solo of motor sounds that is ear-pricking and truly unique.

Prepare to be transported into a realm of sonic enchantment with the forthcoming release from Berlin's renowned Iptamenos Discos. Boys’ Shorts, the dynamic queer duo hailing from Greece, comprised of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA) and London based Tareq, are set to unveil their EP 'Something To Forget’.  

Following their successful ‘New Era’ EP which was on high rotation on Berlin’s RBB Radioeins, and lending their remix skills to Local Suicide on their Eros Anikate album, Boys’ Shorts are yet again back on Iptamenos Discos with ‘Something to Forget’. The duo consists of Vangelis and Tareq who have been friends for over a decade and have had an incredibly successful year, with a string of highly praised releases on Permanent Vacation, Live At Robert Johnson, HE.SHE.THEY & Pets Recordings, and DJ sets in esteemed venues including London’s E1 and Berlin’s Berghain as well as remixing Alison Goldfrapp and supporting her on tour.  

‘Something To Forget’, the first single and title track starts with a strong kick and a prominent snare which punches through the mix and becomes a driving force which anchors the track. The bouncy and energetic bassline is contrasted with lyrics which are somewhat melancholic, however they are performed in a way that gives them an underlying sense of optimism.  

‘Something To Forget’ is sure to be a revered release by Boys’ Shorts and another exciting addition to the Iptamenos Discos catalogue. The full EP including both remixes will be released on all digital/streaming platforms and 12” vinyl on June 14th, 2024.

Captain Mustache is at the vanguard of Paris’ electro new school. Riding on a wave of incredible form, he counts to his name an album on KOMPAKT, a collab with Chicks On Speed on Permanent Vacation, an EP for Helena Hauff’s Return To Disorder label, an album on Bedrock and an outing on Les Yeux Orange with remixes from electro gods DMX Krew and Legowelt. Defining his sound as ‘romantic and burlesque’, he takes his cues from electroclash, ‘80s electro and synth pop and Detroit techno.

Boys' Shorts are a Greek dj/production duo, consisting of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA) and electronic recording artist Tareq.
Their sound is a blend of everything they love to mix in their DJ sets - from House to slow techno and from disco to acid. To quote the boys “We make people dance!” 
They’ve released on labels HE.SHE.THEY, Cormac’s Polari Records, Permanent Vacation, Future Disco, Iptamenos Discos and Love Child. 
They’ve also delivered remixes for Alison Goldfrapp, Poolside, Yuksek x Polo & Pan, Kasper Bjorke, Boy George, Local Suicide x Lena Platonos, Daddy Squad x Zoot Woman, Casey Spooner (Fischerspooner), Vhyce, and Kito Jempere x Wolfram, to name a few. 
Their track “New Era” reached No1 on both Beatport chart, as well as being hot listed on Germany’s Radio Eins, and their track "Fantastic" received support from BBC Radio 1. 
Their remix for Casey Spooner was included in the Red Hot + Free compilation, and the video that accompanied the remix premiered at Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in New York.
The last couple of years has seen them tour around Europe, playing in world renowned venues like Berghain/Panorama bar and London’s E1, while also bringing their unique sound to festivals like "Lost Village" and WECANDANCE.  Building on their success the boys have also enjoyed playing at New York’s Le Bain, Good Room, and House of YES, as well as opening for Hot Chip’s concert at the Knockdown Center.
