"I think most, if not all artists start out as fans of Music - and after many years of making and putting out music, I'm still a huge fan of (Hip Hop Culture and) a wide range of Music.
 
I never want to lose that original sense of awe. The spark that made me want to be an MC. The love that made me realize I was an artist. The passion that made me decide to dedicate my life to music.
 
The Collabs EP is a collection of songs I recorded with some of the many great artists I grew up listening to. Being in the booth with them was more than a blessing. Not only to actually create new music together, but also to break bread with them and hear their stories of how they recorded their classics. Last but not least: This is my way of paying tribute to these pioneers. I even had the honor of performing live with some of my legendary collaborators. For example: Being asked to join the original 'King of Dancehall' Yellowman on stage in Jamaica was truly an unforgettable moment that I will cherish forever!
Two songs were recorded at my studio in Amsterdam, two more were recorded in Los Angeles and one was cut in New York City.

Why We Do It (Featuring MC Eiht)

Brainpower is a pioneering bilingual Hip Hop artist, songwriter and producer from Amsterdam. Having released eight albums, Brainpower is an established recording artist in a league of his own. 

Because of his diverse musical and creative dedication he is a household name in Holland, Belgium and the Dutch Caribbean. Over the years, he has shared the bill with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, Run DMC, Wyclef, and De La Soul.

In November 2018, he performed twice with the Queen Of Funk Chaka Khan at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam.

His recent single ‘Animal Sauvage’ can be heard twice in the number 1 movie The Equalizer 2, starring Denzel Washington.
