Shakti and Zariush started having a strong connection in music after releasing their indivisual podcasts on the same platforms - Dark Disco and The Brvtalism. While hoping the situation around the world to be over so that they can meet and play b2b, they came up with the idea of doing a "correspondence b2b" from two different continents. Here's one hour of more party-oriented selection, recorded over two months for your enjoyment. 

Shakti 

Shakti, a founder of Hämmern, is a seoul based DJ and known for her intense, ravy tunes. She got the name “Shakti (Power in Hindi)” while studying in India and as the name describes, she delivers powerful energy to the floor. Her set usually is based on heavy industrial sound often combined with psychedelic and serrated synths, EBM line/wave, acid and vocals 

Zariush - Polish DJ, promoter and artistic manager of the legendary Projekt LAB club based in Poznan. In his sets he combines techno with industrial sounds, guitar riffs and EBM songs. Over his 10 years on stage he has co-organized countless amount of underground events in his hometown. His recent project VERZERRUNG (run together with MELANIA .) is probably the biggest regular show with ebm / industrial techno sounds in Poland, bringing such acts like Phase Fatale, Terence Fixmer, Schwefelgelb, Sarin, Imperial Black Unit or Operant among others. Besides Polish clubs and festivals, you could hear him in Berlin's Suicide Circus, Urban Spree or Dimensions Festival in Croatia.

On February 24th 2022 the Russian federation began a full-fledged military invasion of Ukraine. This was an escalation of its war against Ukraine that started in 2014.

This compilation is a joint statement and demand that:

⁃ Russian Federation military forces stop all operations on Ukrainian territory
⁃ Restoration of Ukrainian borders as they were in 1991
⁃ Punishment for all guilty of committing war crimes in Ukraine

All sales proceeds will go to official humanitarian organisations, because it is the civilians and especially children who are suffering the most in this war.

This is the year 2022, not 1942, and sadly the Ukrainians are facing something no people should. When this war broke out well over a month ago, I (MÆDON), started reaching out to artist friends asking if they were interested in contributing to a benefit comp for the Ukrainian’s. Many amazing artists joined and the result is a 15 track album filled with a dynamic range of sounds.

With this album, a new series on Sonic Groove is born, “Sonic Groove & Friends”. A series that myself, MÆDON, will be curating. Adam and I also want to thank each of the artists for contributing stellar tracks for this cause.

This album will not be a permanent fixture, so please download it now and know that your money will be donated to a German charity to benefit Ukrainians in this awful time. We will give an update in due time sharing which foundation we donate the money too. Please note, we will not be donating to a charity/foundation that funds weapons of war.

MERVH is a music producer and DJ from Turkey, lives in Warsaw, Poland. She has already made a name for herself in Poland and Ukraine since 2018 and is now starting to gain attention across Europe. Recently she played in Basel and Berlin. MERVH has a preference for experimental industrial and dark techno, which has a decisive influence on her sets and own productions.
