Currently based in the French Alps, in Grenoble, @r-vdt’s musical universe lies at the crossroads of free-party, sci-fi, and fantasy. It draws cerebral landscapes with strange, dark, and distorted contours. Inspired by lysergic subcultures and new hybrid forms of electronic sound design, Ratya's sonic narratives bring ambient into dialogue with IDM, deep-techno with bass music, and mental rhythms with psychedelic patterns. Convinced of the powerful, liberating potential of introspective wandering, the artist invites us to externalize the sensitive—or how, from melancholic dread, one can reach a cathartic synthesis: a collective state of trance. This approach differs from the typical 90s Spiral Tribe aesthetic, as it carries a fresh breeze of elements infused with contemporary production.

“ALLPA PURUMA, nació el 6 de abril de 1995 en el conurbano de Buenos Aires. Es músico, productor y compositor. Su primer acercamiento a la música electrónica fue a los 11 años de edad, descubriendo artistas como Chemical Brother, Oliver Huntemann, Cirez D entre otros. Con el correr del tiempo amplió su espectro musical siendo influenciado por bandas como Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin,The doors, Black sabbath, Pink floyd. Encontrando la inspiración en la música psicodélica y motivado por sus amigos, adquirió su primer instrumento musical, el cual le permitiría comenzar una etapa de experimentación de sonidos que aún lleva a cabo. Sin prejuicios y con la necesidad constante de conectarse con la música, emprende un viaje, donde consolida sus beats tocando percusión y otros instrumentos como djembe, didgeridoo, zicus, charango. En su regreso a Argentina vuelve a relacionarse con la música electrónica poniendo su foco de atención en el Techno, género que lo incentivó a tomar clases de producción musical y sin dejar de lado sus instrumentos nativos incorpora las cajas de ritmos y los sintetizadores”.

1. What was your inspiration for the mix?
This mix was inspired by my early days DJing when I really enjoyed bangin it out, my college radio show where my friend Joe and I only played “dark” music every Wednesday at midnight for 3 years, as well as the freetek and trance scene in and around Athens.

2. How do you think your local music scene has shaped your sound as an artist / approach to nightlife?
When I first started DJing it was in New York around 2018 when playing really fast was getting popular, that inspired the sorts of hard fast sets I was playing then. While I’ve moved away from that to an extent, I felt like revisiting it as a channel to let out some nervous and angry energy. This time, the fast music I chose was also inspired by the trance and freetek I was hearing recently in Athens.
