Julie, Julie, Julie, what do we say about Julie??! How can we put into words the love we have for this seasoned house music vet, and convey the honor that it is to have her experience in our little corner at the Dusty Booty Ranch?
We’ve crushed on Julie in the Seattle house music scene for many years, and were stoked when she finally decided to join us on playa in 2017. Julie saddled up to the DBR with huge enthusiasm. Eager to explore, and seemingly mere minutes after her first arrival on playa, she rode off on an elevated sunset playa adventure with little more than our address and her cell phone. She and her phone were promptly lost. After hours of thinking “Oh, this street looks familiar, I must be going in the right direction” In BRC, LOL!!!) Julie heard the sweet familiar sounds of Wesley Holmes, which we were keeping on for her like an auditory light, helping her find her way back home.

After six years, I’m finally posting again… and what a way to return! My friends threw an incredible pool house party, and I had the honor of opening the dancefloor. 💛 Prepping the opening set for this event was an absolute joy, surrounded by the best people and the most supportive vibes.

This day felt like a dream, just as I started playing, the sun came out, and love filled the air. Expect 30 minutes of funky disco to set the mood, followed by groovy tech-house, and topped off with some unexpected sing-along bangers. Every track was handpicked with LOVE, and if you listen closely, there’s a storyline woven into the mix.

Here'z a tape I'm sure a lot of Orlando peep'z will enjoy!! DJ Ice & I go way back. We first met on September of 1989' @ Club Decades where he did an off night on a Tuesday & called it thee Acid House. I still have my t-shirt with the smiley face on the chest and each sleeve & the words Acid House across the chest.
Our friendship grew from there with our passion of thee 303 sounds. I would have to say ICE'z style was more European as for KCP was str8 up Chicago & Detroit with a dash of NYC Underground House (A Lot of Todd Terry Records).
I actually have a copy of that September 1989' tape somewhere. I'll dig it up & posted here soon.
The last time I saw ICE was when when he was a guest @ the club I was resident at, The Voodoo Lounge in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
It was crazy that night & I don't think he recognized me. I played my last record & he jumped on with some of his signature break-beat sound.
Other than that, enjoy these ICE beatz... a lil bit b4 he became full fledge break beat head. He gave me this @ the Fern Park Station Club.
