Canción escrita por mí, Jordan Julian Chase (también Javier, criollíto) Tenía 11 años.

Estaba en Caracas. Mis tías me golpearon, no por algo que hice, sino simplemente por existir. No entendía por qué. Solo sabía que dolía. Ese día, en medio de la confusión, la rabia, y el deseo de desaparecer lento y para siempre, escribí esta canción. No era solo un poema. Era mi forma de gritar sin hacer ruido.

Cada palabra salió como un suspiro roto, como un intento de entender lo que nadie me explicaba. Era frustración infantil, sí, pero también una chispa de algo más profundo. No quería venganza. No quería atención. Solo quería que el mundo supiera que yo estaba ahí, que sentía, que sangraba por dentro.

Esta canción es mi testimonio. Mi resistencia. Mi forma de convertir el golpe en ritmo, el silencio en sonido, el dolor en arte. No la escribí para que me tengan lástima. La escribí porque era lo único que podía hacer para no desaparecer del todo.

Hoy, esa canción sigue viva... Y yo también.

The Mirror Cracks is a dystopian rock narrative that critiques the illusion of rebellion in a digitally controlled society. Through surreal imagery and ironic tone, the lyrics explore themes of algorithmic conformity, performative resistance, and the commodification of identity. The protagonist is trapped in a system that offers the appearance of freedom while reinforcing psychological and technological control. From ambient introspection to explosive choruses, the song builds toward a haunting realization: the wall of oppression is self-made, and the voice of rebellion has been absorbed into the machine.

Coming straight out of Melbourne with plentiful attitude, Producer/multi-instrumentalist Silentjay teams up with fellow Hiatus Kaiyote backing vocalist, Jace XL to present 'Sacrifice', a mini album of epic proportions.

At once sincere and heartfelt, the songs do not shy away from the playful influence of 90s RnB - a sound that is a defining influence on this EP, which despite clocking in at just under 30 minutes, attains a level of artistry and conceptual cohesiveness that many artists could only dream of.

RESAVOIR is a diverse collective of young Chicago artists & improvisers who perform songs written and directed by trumpeter Will Miller. Best-known for his work with the indie band Whitney — and for his brass cameos on tracks by Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Saba, Eryn Allen Kane, and more - Will is, at his core, a jazz cat who trained at the Oberlin Conservatory. All the while, the Chicago native has been slowly and privately developing the music he jokingly refers to as his “bedroom jazz” sound. RESAVOIR is the manifestation of this development, with Miller often harmonizing his trumpet through synths and samplers, giving his leads an expansive, orchestral sound which can recall Soulquarian Roy Hargrove or Jon Hassell. RESAVOIR's debut album is due in 2019, on International Anthem. Tonight, RESAVOIR will feature Miller (trumpet, MIDI keyboard), Akenya Seymour (keyboards, vocals), Irvin Pierce (tenor sax), Lane Beckstrom (bass), Peter Manheim (drums) and Jeremy Cunningham (drums).
