Desert Trax is proud to present the newest sonic offering from Desert Dwellers, "Dive Into Forever." Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe are unleashing another set of groundbreaking tracks on this EP.  This time they have collaborated with the soulful songstress Ixchel Prisma, who added a major component to the overall enchantment of these tunes.  Together they have seamlessly interwoven Ixchel's spacious lyrics within the forward moving psychedelic atmospheres of the desert. Showcasing their versatility as sound designers, Desert Dwellers have significantly adapted and developed their production value to best suit and complement the voice that shines throughout.
  
The first song, "Dive Into the Core", is overflowing with meditative modulations and a palpable poetic presence.  Greatly influenced by the work of Phaeleh, the track begins with a gentle whisper that invokes the feeling of a lullaby.  As it progresses, spacious synthesizers and a proliferation of pads filter in and out,  providing a blissful background for Ixchel's verses and catchy choruses.  "Dive Into the Core" is a very archetypal composition that will garner affection and adoration for its lovely lyrics and script, edifying the mystical nature of musical mythos, and the rebirth symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes. 

Harken back to the origin of Desert Dwellers and hear reborn the second song on this EP, which is a revamped rendition of one of their oldest and most beloved manifestations, "You Can See Forever." The hypnotic dance vibe of this version of the tune will most certainly captivate any listener.  The instrumentation and vibe is a lot more psychedelic compared to "Dive into the Core," featuring a heavy dose of delayed FX, ethnic woodwinds and incredible incantations.  When listening, It's pretty hard to not imagine yourself wandering the desert with an endless moonlit horizon in front of you.

Deep in the Mojave Desert, under the November full moon known among many names as the "Moon When All Is Gathered In", we gathered and danced for the last time in 2013 . . . and what a gathering it was! This set was played in the wee hours of the night into the sunrise, during a most epic moonset. 
Many thanks to everyone who 'gathered in' to bring this very active year of Full Moon Gatherings to a close with such a wonderful dance.

What a ride!! I had SO much fun delivering this music to techno's faithful at Desert Hearts. 

It starts out groovy and eventually drives off into a techno frenzy. For those of you that were there and went on this trip with me, you know that it was it was good times. 

Thanks to all those smiling faces, those high fives (and fist bumps), the kitty ears that you know who encouraged I wear, the birthday well wishing, the pocket of techno crazed superstars lusting and lurching front and center and the behind-the-decks presence that made for a backstage raging dance party. Who knew that the vibe could be held down so tight behind the decks when there was world class Funktion One in front?

Thanks to David, Lee, Mikey, Ryan, Matt, Kristoff and Andy for their dedication to throwing a premium event and attracting all of my favorite freaks. 

All apologies for the uber lag in releasing this mix. I am… well… picky... But, I couldn't hold on to this one any longer. I eventually decided that I have to share. Hope you enjoy it.

Live at July Full Moon 2014 -- Free Download

Primal howls in the sky and dusty air surrounding a throbbing mass of animals under the moonlight. Among the bramble and sand in the remote mojave, a sound emanates from an orange behemoth of a soundsystem...you've found home...

Here's my audio offering to the gathering of July's Full Moon. A dark, night mix of techno and psy along with a few of my own original works, i hope this live recording of a small amount of the event brings back fond memories, and invigorates the soul!

Brad was born a music lover. By high school he was DJing backyard parties in Long Beach and had already become addicted to the latest 12" vinyl releases. His love and passion for cutting edge electronic music has not abated since that time.

Now a veteran of the West Coast rave community since 1992, Brad continues to perform regularly in the U.S. and Canada. His interest in the environment, yoga, and his philosophical nature are conveyed in his musical choices. He can energize any crowd with his seamless mixing, whether in a warehouse, intimate club, or out in the open desert. Brad defies classification by experimenting with a variety of musical genres, often cutting between techno, minimal, tribal, progressive, acid house, and breaks. He blends many intricate soundscapes to create the flow and funkiness that is essential Brad. His eclectic mixes take the listener on a musical journey where time and space seem to disappear. Using the language of music to unite and celebrate the earth and humanity is Brad's goal. Brad has been a resident DJ with Southern California's legendary Moontribe Collective since 1996.
