Brahma Kumari Asmita came in contact with the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, at an early age, in 1977.  Her school and college education was coupled with spiritual study in a peaceful and loving environment at the local Brahma Kumaris center in Chandigarh, and slowly, what was just playful childhood curiosity blossomed into deep interest and love for a spiritually based lifestyle.  She also learnt Indian classical music and was a recipient of National Talent Search scholarship in music.

For over 80 years their leadership has been characterized by steady courage, a capacity for forgiveness and a deep commitment to unity. 

     Although women hold the top administrative positions, the women who hold these positions have always made decisions in partnership with the men.
