Alan Watts: Sense of Nonsense

It all started in the back of the family car listening to 50’s and 60’s music with my parents.  Singing along to Elvis,  Wilson Picket and the Beatles.  My first favorite song was Twist and Shout.  Next was the sounds of Rap music coming out of the Nyc radio stations and finding us in the woods of Connecticut.  That carried me into dance halls and moved my body until my freshman year where I found a new best friend who smoked pot and listened the poetry of Jim Morrison and his backup band called the Doors.  The Grateful Dead were next in line and soon we heard a new band called Phish floating down from Vermont.   In college I linked with a music head from NYC who showed me the ways of Funkadelic , the JB’s and Frank Zappa.  My next move out LA where I hooked up with an Eastern European girl who taught me of Dead can Dance , St German and soon we met Kruger and Dorfmeister who stayed with a neighbor in LA and we followed them into the KCRW scene.
