I never met my paternal grandfather, who died from a brain tumor the year before I was born. However, I felt like I knew him well from my grandmother’s stories.  A child of poverty from a very large family, he grew up in a tiny rural town in the middle of nowhere (see photo).  Despite his very humble beginnings, he knew there was a greater purpose for his life and after returning from military service, he realized his calling to enter the ministry.

His life as a preacher took him down countless roads to cities both large and small, where he planted new churches and built vibrant congregations. Throughout his life, he was known not only for the weekly messages he delivered to his congregation, but also for his life of service to others.  This composition was written to remember that life of service. The introductory theme repeated throughout represents his many travels/moves to the churches and congregations he and his family served.

Join us as we embrace these moments of pause, stepping away from the relentless pace of everyday life... This is the rhythm that fuels our journey.

This transformation will reveal itself around the midpoint of the song, leading the listener toward a renewed experience in time. It won’t take much of a wait; anticipate a seamless shift before the composition reaches its conclusion.

At the 2:13 mark, my concept takes a descent, signaled by the pounding sound of the bass drum flams. To be truthfully candid, I find myself lacking complete satisfaction with how it stands at this moment, So I stopped "the tape."
