As the Brainwaves Corp prepares to relaunch some more caustic material into the multiverse, the board of directors has decided to pursue its oscillatory neural activity by inviting our good friend, co-conspirator and dangerously deep digger named Fall for an 8th podcast. Co-founder of Geneva’s Central Station bar and cultural hotspot, Fall has always been and will likely remain one of our favourite selectors in the region. His nonchalant attitude hides an intricate and wide knowledge of the musical and sound art spectrum, and you can expect a top-quality mix of proper gems without a single familiar name included. With the impending return of El Niño and the coming heatwaves, the Brainwaves Corp directorate is adjusting the conglomerate’s course towards an exponential increase in temperature. With this in mind, the decision to launch the Neural Oscillations podcast was taken after a stunning powerpoint presentation made by none other than Brian “The Rough” and his assistant whose identity we cannot yet disclose. 

After a careful examination of potential candidates, the board has therefore decided to initiate this enterprise with the aid of Crypto Soso, a talented neuroscientist whose expertise has been of much use to the extragalactic council over the years. A compulsive perfectionist with an encyclopaedic knowledge in the complex art of IDM, trance and melodic electro bangers, Crypto Soso applies the scientific method to everything she does, providing us with a beautifully crafted interstellar voyage that we can only recommend.

C'est dans cette optique que la décision de lancer le podcast Neural Oscillations a été prise après une présentation powerpoint époustouflante réalisée par nul autre que Brian “Le “Rapeux” et son assistant dont nous ne pouvons encore dévoiler l'identité. 

Après un examen minutieux des candidat-es potentiel-les, le conseil a donc décidé de lancer cette entreprise avec l'aide de Crypto Soso, une docteur en neuroscience talentueuse dont l'expertise a été très utile au conseil extragalactique au fil du temps. Une perfectionniste compulsive dotée d'une connaissance encyclopédique de l'art complexe de l'IDM, la trance et des bangers électro mélodiques, Crypto Soso applique la méthode scientifique à tout ce qu'elle fait, nous offrant ainsi un voyage interstellaire de toute beauté que nous ne pouvons que recommander.

ФАКТУРА continues to explore the depths of the Ural electronic scene. Next in line is a cassette by a musician from the city of Serov, Ivan Somov, who is releasing music under the name NotNotice.

NotNotice music is filled with the atmosphere of occultism, it introduces into the trance, plays the role of an excellent instrument for the dance floor.

 "The Constructor" is based on methods of cutting different sounds into separate samples. Tarkovsky, the sounds from the office, recorded by my girlfriend, the transformer and some other details fell under the scissors. By picking up the sliced pieces of sound, like goods on pallets, in slightly noisy techno canvases.

For the third edition of the Neural Oscillations we invited https://soundcloud.com/swimsupply aka https://soundcloud.com/marklando and https://soundcloud.com/tesdorpf, our favourite Basel-based acid aficionados whom we regularly run into at raves across the country. After the feverish, rave-ready breaks of the last two editions, this podcast slows it down a notch with a steady flow of continuous four to the floor energy and carefully selected grooves.

Ces amateurs d’atmosphères acidulées sont basés à Bâle, mais on les croise devant ou derrière le booth dans toutes les villes de Suisse. After a little lockdown-break we are finally returning with our monthly Headcast series. 

Issue 27 comes from Hamburg hero KLUENTAH. Head of ZEMENT records and responsible for releases on labels like Public System Recordings, Mechatronica, FUTURE ME RECORDS and many more. In his productions as well as his mixtapes, you can always recognise his love for heavily distorted drums, a kind of one-take-roughness and last but not least, a passion for the bounciness of Hip-Hop, which we highly admire. Attributes which also come to life in his duo FALLBEIL which he is forming together with Wosto. If you ever had the possibility to see those guys playing one of their hardware-only improvised livesets across Europe, you know what we are talking about. 

The mix he delivers for us reflects an open-minded mixtape-approach: a crossover between some synthetic disco vibes, bouncing breakbeats, some electro-bretterz and overdriven 808 romance. Enjoy!
