Darin fragt sie sich, wonach sie eigentlich sucht, wenn sie Zurkindes Liebe & Leben aus heutiger Perspektive betrachtet. Nach Trost? Mut? Identifikation? Oder vor allem nach sich selbst? "Liebi Irène" - ein Brief an Irène Zurkinden

"A Pattern Language of Phasing Turntables" is Formen’s current live project. Rooted in his interest in dubplate cutting, experimental music, and performance art, the project centres on an analogue setup: three turntables, a mixing console, and a tape machine.

The musical material for each performance consists of self-made lathe cuts that Formen prepares in his studio. He develops minimalist musical fragments or works with stems from collaborators, cutting these ideas onto dubplates. During performance, the dubplates are recombined live; minute differences in timing, pitch and frequency generate new, improvised compositions that Formen explores ad hoc through subtle manipulations within the setup.

Conceptually, the project draws on the human tendency to find patterns in randomness: the dubplates are neither locked nor synced but combined at arbitrary points, moving freely and producing emergent patterns that each listener perceives differently.

All tracks written by Formen. Exceptions are the recordings of "Der Tod ist gross" from Werner Herzog’s "Nosferatu", and the vocals and harmony at 16:30–22:30, which were written and produced by @beatrice-beispiel — merci tuusig!

On October 24, 2025, Ruud Janssen hosted Julie Wynne, a partner at MLL legal firm in Geneva, on the #DESIGNtoCHANGE podcast. Recorded at the Novartis Pavilion in Basel, the session explored the transformative power of conversations and the intersection of law, design thinking, and impactful change. Julie shared her journey from hospitality to becoming a leading legal expert in international estate planning, art law, and sustainable economy. As head of MLL’s Sustainable Economy Industry Group, Julie emphasized embedding purpose and impact into organizational DNA through constitutional documents, policies, and contracts, advocating for a holistic approach to governance.

The Event Canvas methodology was highlighted as a tool for designing events that drive change and innovation. Julie discussed how organizations can integrate sustainability and ESG compliance into events, addressing waste reduction, travel emissions, and community engagement. She introduced the concept of nature’s role in decision-making, citing the Unbounding Nature initiative, which explores nature as inspiration, advisor, director, and shareholder. Julie also highlighted the importance of avoiding greenwashing, referencing the EU Green Claims Directive and the Chancery Lane Project’s model climate clauses.

Julie shared her experiences as a change-maker, working with international charities, mission-driven businesses, and NGOs. She recounted her involvement in the Global Alliance for Impact Lawyers, including its recent summit in Mexico, which focused on benefit corporation laws and fostering collaboration between stakeholders from the Global South and North. She also discussed the Projecto Contratos Justos na Amazonia, which promotes fair contracting practices to protect vulnerable parties, such as indigenous communities, in negotiations.

The conversation explored the evolving role of lawyers in designing impactful solutions, with Julie advocating for early collaboration between event designers and legal advisors to align with regulations and values. She emphasized the importance of convening diverse stakeholders to foster innovation and meaningful exchanges, citing examples like Nexus network vegan conferences and community-led projects that promote sustainability and social impact.

The session concluded with a preview of an upcoming breakfast event hosted by MLL in Geneva on November 13, 2025 where Julie and Ruud will explore event design and its role in driving change and impact. This engaging conversation underscored the importance of collaboration, creativity, and purpose in shaping the future of organizations, events, and society.

tsbp aka The Sad Boy Project by F.T.B. – An immersive exploration of vulnerability, crafting a haunting soundscape that pioneers a new genre called "heavy mental." Defying traditional conventions, tsbp invites listeners and collaborators on a cathartic auditory experience, turning inner turmoil into transformative art.

1997 kam Oliver Zulliger durch die legendären Tapes zur Trancemusik und besuchte im selben Jahr seinen ersten Rave im Nachtwerk Thun. Von da an lies im der Trance keine Ruhe mehr und er stellte sich vor selber hinter den Plattenspielern zu stehen. So schaffte er sich 1998 zusammen mit DJ Hypernova sein erstes Equipment an. Nach vielen Übungsstunden im Übungsraum folgten dann die ersten kleinen Auftritte an Privatpartys. Ab 1999 folgten dann die ersten Bookings für Clubs und Raves. Von da an war DJ Spaceman resident im Club The Dawn im Stufenbau Ittigen und anschliessend noch resident an der Afterhour im Bierhübeli Underground. Von 2006 bis 2012 legte DJ Spaceman dann eine Pause ein um sich Beruflich weiter zu bilden. Der Trance lies in aber nie los und so spielt er seit 2012 wieder gelegentlich an Party’s. Ab 2017 startet er ein Projekt mit Kollegen und begann mit dem Produzieren von Trance.

Empty Space is an artistic platform based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. We explore the interactions of physical media, their characteristic formal languages, and their modes of functionality. To achieve this, we focus on projects that experiment with various art forms, aesthetics, and crafts. Our goal is to create works of art that challenge conventional modes of production and reception.

To bring each project to life, we collaborate with different artists, blending their distinctive approaches and methods into something new. Depending on the medium, many of our productions are conceived as one-of-a-kind pieces or one-time performances.

Empty Space operates as a non-profit association, with all revenue either supporting the artists or being reinvested in future projects.
