Cape Town-based artist Lukas Urban debuts on City Bowl Wax Network with four textural and exquisitely detailed works that defy categorization. As an exploration of spatial relationships, Maps(Method) blurs the lines between IDM, ambient, broken beat, and dub to create a timeless and dynamic work. Against a background of weightlessness, synthetic textures and lush chords are punctuated by organic percussion that transport the listener into living soundscapes. Urban’s careful attention to movement creates an experience that is both minimal, yet dense - a breath of fresh air that forgoes genre purity and arrives at something entirely unique.

Our second guest of 2022 is the Hanau born Ediz, he grew up playing a diversity of classical instruments but what inspired him the most were the drums, which you can hear this clearly in his productions by paying attention to all the different patterns and (poly)rhythms surfing between house, electro, bass and techno released on the SICK Label, Mechatronica, Zas Werren & his self-released tracks. 

His experimental side include trials with signal chains, sound design, foley for short films, live jams and is often triggered by his love for machine & synth manuals. 
This mix contains some music he listened to during the last weeks, older classics and new stuff, including some tracks he made himself and with friends.
