for this piece I used only one sample. A tulip glass, also known as a Jenever glass. I mulitsampled the dynamics of the glass scraping on an iron board used as a resonator. 

The idea for the composition came to me by the piece MODELL 5, by Hentschläger and Langheinrich.

with Stockhausens' "Mikrophonie 1" as inspiration, I created this track using a Neumann K184 and a metal platter I found around the house. 

holding the mic in hand while in a crouched position over the platter, I was able to generate dynamic inharmonic sounds. in a later stage, I decided what my span would look like, and then used the handheld movement as a base for my broad interpretation of melody.

Nieuwe Meer

Recently I have been going out birding with my binoculairs. Today I decided to bring some omni's and spend some more time on a single location in my local park to see and hear what is living here and to take my time to learn the bird and song in my neighbourhood. What's surprised me the most is the amount of grote bonte spechten (great specked woodpeckers).
