with Stockhausens' "Mikrophonie 1" as inspiration, I created this track using a Neumann K184 and a metal platter I found around the house. 

holding the mic in hand while in a crouched position over the platter, I was able to generate dynamic inharmonic sounds. in a later stage, I decided what my span would look like, and then used the handheld movement as a base for my broad interpretation of melody.

This month, marienus had ENKA over at the container. ENKA is a DJ, producer, sound designer and composer for contemporary dance and film. This talented man has amassed the attention of Bunker Records, His Dark Elements and Modal Analysis already, with his sound that combines genres like ebm, acid and proper techno. He has released a collaboration with Extase Urbaine on Public Sex Regime’s v/a “The Pact” and there’s more to come. Definitely one to start keeping an eye on if you weren’t already.

CECIA (Collaborative Electroacoustic Composition with Intelligent Agents) is an innovative music project that integrates the creative agency of 5 composers and Machine Learning algorithms, leading to the creation of a unique composition of electroacoustic music. The project explores collaborative music creation, harnessing the creativity of electroacoustic music composers and Intelligent Agents through an online platform. The collaborative process was conducted remotely in an iterative fashion, in which the composers anonymously submitted and evaluated sound material/ideas/suggestions. These data were used for the training of the machine learning algorithms, which generated new sonic structures, which in turn were fed back to the composers as suggestive material. The project implements a synergistic framework between human and algorithms, introducing a novel experimental sound practice for the creation of  electroacoustic music.
