Jakub Helinski aka Controlwerk constantly builds his reputation as one of the leading polish producers of young generation. With releases on such labels as Alter Ego, Spring Tube, PHW, Incepto and Stellar Fountain he easily drew attention from prominent figures of electronic music scene worldwide. As a second installment of 2015 Electronic Tree proudly present Controlwerk's "Far Nearer" EP which is a follow up to memorable "The Awakening" single warmly received in july last year. Jakub's sound developed meanwhile to much more dark and subtle areas, yet not losing it's melodic side. Outstanding atmosphere in both included originals brings to mind some trippy works by such artists as Nhar or Ryan Davis. Definitely a great comeback by Jakub and we hope for more from him this year!

Anjunadeep is an independent record label based in London. Having begun life as an outlet for the deeper and more progressive end of trance trio Above & Beyond's DJ sets, the label has now grown into one of the dance music world’s most respected imprints for deep, melodic house music.

Readers of Deep House London will be no strangers to the prolific output of Anjunadeep, as in the last year alone we have showcased releases and artists like Clarian, Matthias Vogt, and Eli & Fur (whose "California Love" EP featured on our best of November 2015 list), to much acclaim. Aside from those aformentioned, Anjunadeep has also provided a platform for the diverse range of artists such as Yotto, Tom Middleton, Way Out West, Martin Roth, Vincenzo, Lancelot, 16 Bit Loltias, Moon Boots, and Ryan Davis, with the likes of Dusky, Vincenzo, Lane 8 and Michael Cassette, releasing full length albums on the platform.

Dedicated to deep and emotive electronic music, Anjunadeep holds a unique position in the modern dance music world, championing music heard on the huge stages of Coachella and EDC, Nocturnal Wonderland, to Oasis Festival to the intimate dancefloors of Europe and everywhere in between. Over its 10 years and 250 releases, the sound of the label has evolved, but while the BPMs may have slowed, the mission statement of Anjunadeep has remained the same - to release timeless soulful and melodic electronic music.

With that, we continue our new series here, and in conjunction with Deep House Amsterdam, highlighting some of our favourite labels from around the world, we thought we would catch up with label co-founder (and compiler of the annual, and highly successful, Anjunadeep compilation series) James Grant and get the scoop on all things Anjunadeep. Here, you will find information on the label’s history, ethos, releases and future. As you can probably tell by know, we are asking each respective label owner the same questions. With this approach, we hope these showcases will be as educational and informative (for all you aspiring label heads out there) as they are entertaining.

This is a mix I made for the incredible Ondalinda festival I played in Costa Careyes, Mexico, on Dia de los Muertos, 2016. I decided to update it with a few tunes and release it. Jan 2017.

'Zabak' is the first release on MONO.NOISE which comes from Daniele Di Martino. The Berlin based DJ & producer is showing his deep and melancholic but straight side with this release. The second track is a dark and dazzling interpretation of Italian artist Paul Ursin.

I wrote this song when I was living in London in 2015. The second I played the chords on the piano I felt like I had to sing on it. It was the first track I tried to sing on so it has a lot of processing on the vocals; I had no idea what I was doing in those days. I basically forgot about the song for a year until I was working in a studio in a cabin in Yosemite forest where I heard it again and decided to finish it. That's where all the sampled birdsong comes from at the start. The song also has a load of world instrumentation, including my Kalimba a friend gave me from Zimbabwe and a dan moi. Out of all the songs I've ever released this one is probably the most personal. I've been playing it live for about a year and I'm so excited to finally share it with you. New ep coming feb 9 <3
