Number six in our Break 3000 revisited classics series looks back at the pre Dirt Crew era in Cologne between 2002 and 2005. When he first made contact with the Traum and Trapez network by visiting the Kompakt record store frequently. In this period Break 3000 made a switch from pure Electro to Techno and House and crafted a unique style that can't be put in a box really, it's a mix of Trance, Techno, Electro, Rave, what later would be stamped "Electro House" by some.

The first track "Flash" was released on MBF in 2005, a sub label by Traum Schallplatten and was picked up by many DJ's back than and created a real buzz for it's Epic sound and lenght .. a real trip! The second track "Fix" was written in the same session and is filled with the love for early 90s rave records, hence the vocal samples! This track was released on his first solo EP on Dirt Crew Recordings back in 2005. 

All tracks were mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne.

Fast rising Israeli producer, OMRI., returns to Disco Halal with his debut EP ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’. Across four tracks the artist showcases his unique, psychedelic sound that proves just why he’s one of Tel Aviv’s hottest exports right now. Spanning left-field house, indie-dance, and breakbeat, the artist takes us on a sonic journey across his homeland, opening our eyes to the endless possibilities of dance music. OMRI. represents a vibrant new generation of musicians emerging out of Tel Aviv, channelling the city's renowned freedom of expression, creating dance music free of the status quo, void of any expectation. It’s an approach heard perfectly on this EP, whether it be via the relentless warped groove of ‘Snakes In The Bed’, the artists futuristic take on breakbeat, with a dubstep esque twist on ‘The Spotlight’, or the evocative, mind numbing vocals on ‘The Great Illusion’, the artist never fails to surprise, consistently veering in new directions.

As far as debut EP’s go, ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’ is a true statement of intent from the artist. Now ready to take his Middle Eastern sound across the globe, these four tracks simply represent the beginning of an exciting journey for OMRI. We’re sure these four tracks will springboard the artist to new heights, and we can’t wait to see just how far he goes.

Snakes In The Bed

ODTD050 sees Øddity celebrate its 50th release with the debut of emerging Brazilian talent Bigfett. This young innovative producer has already been making waves following key releases for Odd One Out,
Rose Avenue and Radikon. Bigfett delivers two outstanding melodic techno gems especially for Fur Coat’s iconic label, proving the excitement is fully justified.

‘Therapy’ leads the way by setting an addictive rolling groove right from the start. A deep shuddering bass-line adds further momentum as kinetic synth stabs ramp up the energy even further. A brilliant breakdown follows, showing that Bigfett completely understands how to modulate the dynamics of a track for maximum dance-floor impact.

‘Kronos’ sees Bigfett take you on a deeper journey filled with beautiful sound architecture and tasteful sonic layers, as the hymn like melody takes over. Played at the right point in a set, ‘Kronos’ will create a truly special clubbing moment to live long in the memory.

ODTD051 marks the Øddity debut of in-demand melodic techno titan Olivier Giacomotto. Renowned for high quality productions allied to a complete dedication to his craft, Olivier has recent releases and remixes on Atlant, Spectrum, Radikon, Einmusika and his own label Definitive. There’s been a lot of excitement around Olivier lately - on the evidence of these two new stunning tracks its easy to see why.

Leading the way is title track ‘Empty Space’. Setting an urgent driving 4/4 pace right from the start Olivier displays total understanding of the key elements needed to get the dance-floor locked in. Deep pulsating bass and dramatic percussive crashes create a heightened sense of anticipation, before cool fx ridden vox and a jagged arp attack lead to the momentous breakdown. From here Olivier cranks the intensity dial up to 11 right through to the end.

‘Ride With Me’ takes you deeper into Olivier’s mind as its powerful driving groove leads way to an unforgettable melody and vocal. A masterful arranger, Olivier uses rich synths, simmering arps and ringing keys to create a perfect point for the uplifting vocal to enter. A future classic ‘Ride With Me’ is set to be a key moment in club nights globally.
