"Strangers" is just his latest work that showcases his distinctive talent."

Seven Lions with Myon and Shane 54 - Strangers (Feat. Tove Lo)

This song is one of my favorites from the new album "A Song Across Wires". I wrote this track on acoustic instruments (guitar, a six string fretted cello I had built that's like a bass or baritone equivalent of the viola de gamba, glockenspiel and others). Tydi and I worked together on the track (beats and bass) over email and eventually in person. We had a blast in the studio on this and eventually the culmination of these efforts was sent in a rough state to the country artist Plumb.

She wrote a wonderfully simple and catchy vocal. We worked with this vocal for a while and it became apparent after some time that her management and representatives had a different idea about what this song should be and what it should be for so we began looking for new singers (still bummed about this, Plumb is a great artist).

Enter Tanya Zygar. She is friends with Tydi and we sent her the track and she wrote a beautiful verse melody. I sang a multi-track chorus top line and sent it back to her. We went back and forth with iterations of lyrics and eventually settled on a nautical theme (which I love). Stem the Tide is an expression originally used to mean that a ship was sailing against the tide fast enough to make headway over the ground or to move faster than the tide in the opposite direction. 

I spend about a week after all this doing vocal editing, glitching and comping and eventually laid the vocal into the final mix.

All said and done, this song probably took in work hours the better part of 2 months. I worked on in in Logic 6.43 on a 24bit PT rig (OS9), OS X Logic 7 and 9, Live 8 and 9 and was stem printed from Logic 9. 

My favorite thing about it is the acoustic instruments playing in tandem to the analog synths, plugins and glitch elements. Very proud to share this one with you.

After a lot of demand from his fans, JOOP finally decided to do a remake of his classic anthem The Future. The Future, as we all know, was a career defining release for JOOP. The Anthem for one of Holland's largest dance festivals ID&T's Trance Energy 2007 and a record that continues to be a favourite among festival attendees to this day.

Of course, it is not an easy task to touch a classic. Whereas the original production was a true trance banger, the new remake sports an undeniable 2013 sound. Get ready for Earth-shaking beats, kick drums that are larger than life, a stadium rocking riff, and of course that haunting vocal snippet we all know from the original. 

Last year's Just One Night already showed some of JOOP's all-round production skills in which we hear a combination of Big Room, dubstep-esque electro beats and trance. Armin Van Buuren was one of the first Djs to support this gem in his radio show A State Of Trance which is listened to by millions of fans around the world every week! The new remake of The Future takes it all to the next level. 

Before its official release, Leon Bolier gave it a test run at ASOT 600 and the initial reactions were lauding. This is the first time I am releasing an album as a physical product at the same time as a digital version. I have double disc CDs and full length vinyl records available with amazing hard cover book packaging that looks stunning and contains a 28 page photo booklet documenting much of the making of the album. The second disc of the double CD set contains 13 additional tracks straight off the vinyl acetates that I composed and created in order to make legit sounding samples for A Color Map of The Sun.

For the first time however, I encourage you to purchase a copy of the album. There are two honest reasons for this. The main reason is that as an artist I have always reinvested any success I have directly back into the music, the show and the art that goes along with it. Secondly, this isn't just an album; it is a massive collection of music beyond what is on the CDs that I will continue to put out after the album release. There is an insightful documentary film on the making of this project to be released alongside the launch of the album, as well as a music video for every song. They are all beautiful and uniquely unusual pieces of art.

This "album" is a multi-medium map of my mind and my self. It is personal and honest and I put everything into it. I have stayed on the path of being a completely independent musician and with the help of every supporter and friend, we have transformed a simple idea into a movement, a cultural beacon of light. Lana Del Rey - Young & Beautiful (Serge Devant remix)

Pioneers of Colorado’s electronic music explosion, Break Science soars ahead of the curve, with a decade-plus trendsetting the game. Steeped in filial traditions of East Coast hip hop, and futuristic soundwaves of the now, the Denver-based duo continues to scale creative mountains. Comprised of keyboardist/producer/jazz pianist Borahm Lee (Pretty Lights Live Band) and funk/hip-hop drummer extraordinaire Adam Deitch (Lettuce), Break Science traces roots to the embryonic seeds that flowered the electro-soul movement. The pair have consistently ascended the cutting edge of live dance music culture with an array of blistering live performances in any number of settings or configurations.

Borahm Lee’s masterful use of Ableton Live and prowess atop an assortment of analog synths, Fender Rhodes, and digital plug-ins propel Break Science’s towards the new frontier. Lee has worked with cultural icons like Kanye West and The Fugees, he is well versed in reggae/dub vibrations. Adam Deitch keeps it thorough with classic boom-bap, and inventive patterns that employ his rhythmic wizardry, be it electronic drum programming or a traditional trap-kit. Deitch has worked with hip-hop legends like Redman, Pharoahe Monch and members of the Wu-Tang Clan, he’s manned the drum seat for jazz luminaries like John Scofield (Uberjam). Both members of Break Science bring classic hip-hop, dub, drum n’ bass, dancehall, jazz, funk, and genre-defying elements to coalesce in modern electronic soundscapes.

The sum of these parts has evolved Break Science into an amalgam of styles authentic, and an artistic aesthetic wholly their own, heard in the highest of definition on their titanic 2018 full-length LP Grid of Souls. For ever-further explorations in sound, the duo will form like Voltron, combining with several members of Lettuce for the wildly-kinetic Break Science Live Band. Whether the essential dynamic duo or a full-fledged ensemble, they continue to break down the science & move the arena, one gridlocked soul at a time.
