Sam Feldt ‘Show Me Love’ (EDX's Indian Summer Remix) (Spinnin')

With a Beatport number 1 already in 2015 under his belt for his remix on Nora En Pure's 'Uruguay', as well as a debut release via Ministry of Sound's Hed Kandi Records for 'Want You', Swiss producer EDX is back to present a remix of Sam Feldt's 'Show Me Love'. 

Scheduled for release this summer via Spinnin' Records and premiered on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Danny Howard, EDX's signature nu-disco sound is a perfect match for Feldt's unique remake of the 90's house classic. By layering a melodic bassline and uplifting synth-hooks over the records delicate vocals, EDX perfectly encapsulates the romantic soul of the original and thus delivers an infectious summer anthem in his remix. 

Through constantly sourcing out fresh new club music via his weekly 'No Xcuses' podcast, as well as a demanding tour schedule that recently saw him embark on an extensive US tour and subsequent dates in South Africa and Indonesia, EDX is a producer with his ear firmly to the ground. Also a member of Swiss collective Helvetic Nerds - alongside the likes of Chris Reece, Daniel Portman and Nora En Pure - and behind a wide-ranging set of remixes that count Avicii and Beyonce as part of his discography, EDX's long-standing dedication to the scene shows no signs of slowing down.

CJ Weaver’s Translation debut, the Flood EP, is a six-track exploration of deep and elemental soundscapes orbiting 85-170 BPM. What really sets CJ apart from the pack is his ability to compose immersive soundscapes with a live and organic feel to them. Quixotically titled opener Android Dice Clay is an easy-going futuristic groove that cruises along to 8-bit synths, horn riffs, and syncopated 808 drums. Soothing pads begin the descent into deeper territory on Bengt, where shimmering FX and shuffling rhythmics give off cavernous reverberations, dissipating softly into the twinkling keys of the EP’s soothing, minimal interlude, 3-17-15.

Act two begins with the thundering sounds of Forest Music, a terrestrial, half-tempo amalgamation of tribal drums and bass-weight. Scrolls brings the calm after the storm, opening with the ambiance of empty, pre-dawn streets and majestic choir synths. Despite its name, the calm atmospherics and gentle downtempo sway of EP title-track, Flood, offer a fitting close to the sonic expedition.

Imagine yourself taken from the ones you love, stolen away from the life you know to be dragged into a world of mental manipulation and mind fuckery. What if they try and convince you you're insane? And you're so disassociated you don't even know if they're right?

BROADMOOR BLUES takes us on a voyeuristic journey back to a time when the life of the rebellious underdog could be so easily crushed under the mainstream idea of what was a 'normal' way to think and feel. Back to a time when the cages and trappings of society were literal and you could be locked up for even daring to question the status quo. The struggle of the outsider. It treads carefully along the lines of social stability to weave a tale of someone drowning in a world of dominance and corruption. The same corruption that still dehumanises us all to this day. The eternal evil that makes you doubt yourself and your own sanity. The cages are more insidious and psychological now but the stigma is just as real.

Our song begins with a melancholic ode to inner struggle as disjointed voices ripple over the understated acoustic guitar riff, a glimpse into an already fractured psyche, someone very much on the edge.. It's the sound of uncomfortably warm summer evenings watching the world flicker and glitch through a tapestry of reinforced glass and iron bars... So close to collapsing under the weight of the monster it has created... and you feel powerless to stop it. A looping vocal mantra of self affirmation drags us into the drop as all walls come crashing down and the birth scream of inner realisation stands up to be heard. A tearing bassline soars over pounding, primal drum patterns and subtle vocal snippets keep the raw, exposed soul of the story at the forefront of your mind.

THE SECT use little melodic flourishes to emphasise the fragility of the vocal which creates an emotive orchestral intro to ease you into the insane bass line as it screams away over a driving tech workout.

Yes, yes, you are right - this is an official release based on the music of the 60’s television series called Star Maidens.
 
Coming out on Nipponeer Records who are no stranger working with Original Soundtracks - just as their earlier release re-working the songs of the classic, Dawn Of The Dead - this 3-tracker EP now consists of nothing but modern electornic dance music!

The label is offering contemporary breakbeat and glithcy mid-tempo breaks tracks with dancefloor-banger-vibes for the peak-hours of any festival slot or club play. Their constant artist, The Darrow Chem Syndicate is being remixed by @kidpanel whom you can recently come across on the Sales Charts of Beatport and JunoDownload with several releases up to date. The other act in duty for remixing is @lackjemmon, a bass-heavy funk producer duo, with several remixes and highly acclaimed free-downloads under their belt aswell as a crispy 12” vinyl releases this year. Both artists are gigging across Europe and the UK on regular basis, so these remixes will do the job for ya - leaving no disappointment behind!
 
Nipponeer Records being based in Tokyo, Japan and was founded by Hiroshi Fukuma in 2003. This is the 3rd release of the label, while the first EP came out in 2009 - aiming to reach a place of solely ageless and quality music, where time has got no dimension.
