MXMS is short for “Me and My Shadow" and is singer Ariel Levitan and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Dawson.   The self-produced duo from New York City and small-town Oklahoma creates funeral pop fusing classic melodic songwriting with dark unfiltered chaos driven by a thousand forms of fear.

“Gravedigger” is both a winter cry of sexual freedom and an macabre warning to future ill-intended suitors of Ariel.  Moving gracefully through a flow of grinding synthesizers and drum machines, Ariel reveals her story that twists from danger to desire with a dash of resentment singing:

floating on the river
You're going on a devil dance
do the Macarena
black on my eyes
and they cold as a cadaver
i'm immortal motherfucker
can't see me in the mirror
 
Using visual audio and cinematic foley, producer and keyboardist Jeremy Dawson weaves samples of fire, car crashes and electrical storms with crushed beats and oscillating bass to push the lyric into a viewable interpretation.   It’s a future forwarded peak hour low tempo banger with a dead-end result for the antagonist.

Pretty  Young  Thing  (PYT)  has  enlisted  Tel  Aviv  based  Cohn  for  it’s  5th  release,  Hella  Viv.  Cohn  grew  up  in  London,  and  specializes  in  house  and  disco  that  pulls  elements  from  the  90's  into  a  modern  context.  Growing  up  listening  to  everything  from  New  York  Hip-Hop  to  French  House,  Cohn  uses  the  city's  nightlife  to  make  dance  tools  that  can  be  played  from  the  cafe  to  the  club.  From  the  start  with  Hella  Viv’s  title  track,  we  get  a  peak  time  jackin’  techy  workout  that  will  take  dance  floors  by  storm.  212  gets  us  grooving  with  deep  disco  grooves  that  will  delight  house  aficionados  everywhere.  What  I  Want  (Looking  For  You)  keeps  the  vibes  rolling  with  expertly  layered  samples  and  vocals  that  bump  along  to  a  funky  bassline.  In  Your  Arms  rounds  out  the  affair  with  a  deeper  seductive  groove  sure  to  spread  love  on  the  dancefloor.  One  thing  is  for  sure,  Cohn  knows  how  to  make  us  boogie.  Get  your  dancing  shoes  on  and  dive  in!

 About 
The Argentinian MUNSE (@munse_ofc) is the artist who brings you the 15th EP of Infinite Depth. He provided three very interesting originals of which one collaboration with another Argentinian talent, called Stjepanek (@stjepanek). Two of the originals got remixed by respectively the Belgian duo Senses of Mind (@sensesofmind) and the French Aalson (@aalsonmsc).

The first tracks is called ‘Dawn’. A perfect intro track which starts of with a lot of exciting percussion. The tension through the whole track keeps expanding towards a certain unexpected point at the end of the track, through which all melodies heard before get new dimension.

The duo Senses of Mind took their view on ‘Dawn’ and stripped the track down. Around some more atmospheric elements of the original they built up the track again, using their own signature sounds. This all together resulted a pretty minimalistic and sophisticated remix.

The title track of the EP, called ‘Alma’, is a real journey through space. Starting of with the key elements of the track, which overflow in a friendly and peaceful melody. After this, it comes to the key moment, which could be seen as a real intensification. A moment which will bring you to higher atmospheres for sure. After this intense part, the track nicely falls down into the peaceful melody again to bring this journey to an end.

The collaboration between MUNSE and Stjepanek, called ‘Serentiy’, is a masterpiece full of surprises. Already at the beginning the tension is very high, which makes you wonder what will be the next unexpected moment. Constantly melodies of which you couldn’t think of are generated and are combined with a certain groove flowing through the whole track. A track you can’t get enough of, but unfortunately every track has an finish.

Aalson gave ‘Serenity’ a whole new meaning through his remix. In the beginning it looks like the remix is built on the lead melody of the original, but in the break a new signature melody gets introduced. This signature part gives the track an extra layer of euphory and brings the full EP to a nice and satisfying end.
