kick is really two sounds - two books slapped together for the high end, and an empty dog food container thumped for the boom. also rattling chains, jingling keys, a wind-up metronome, two-fisted pill bottle shaking, a shuffling deck to rearrange the song elements every now and then, a glass smashed with a hammer, pots and pans banged on with a spoon, good old fashioned handclaps.
