We are more than happy to welcome yet another legend to our ever-growing artist roster - Alexander Kowalski surely doesn't need any introduction at all, as he is one of the most consistent producers in the international circuit of Techno and a highly respected name for fans and colleagues alike. His modern, yet classic approach to writing music gained him a reputation of respect amongst the biggest names in the game and Alexander manages to cement it with every single release he puts out there. We are delighted to be able to release his newest EP „They Came At Night“ with 4 seminal Techno cuts on Vinyl and one Bonus track for the digital jocks. Soma welcome the debut album from the ever-growing roster of youthful talent as Lewis Fautzi drops The Gare Album, named in homage to The Gare Club, Porto, where Lewis made his discovery of Techno. A bold 4 track single debut gave rise to the album process midway through 2013 and under the careful supervision of Soma, Lewis has provided a definitive peak in his sound cultivated on the back of years of studio work. A collection of deep, dark and twisted techno awaits heralding a coming of age for the Portuguese native.

A droning, industrial vibe is immediate from the outset as Signal crackles into existence giving way to the cavernous UBV-76 with its concrete swathes of noise. High intensity pings form the depths give a sense of what is to come. Intriguing, broken beats deepen proceeding as Lewis takes things to The Other Side of Reality. A momentarily respite before he begins to open things up. Blocker takes the tempo up a notch with a thumping kick and looped out chaotic synths that slowly build the tension. This brooding atmosphere is carried on into the tweeked out and mesmerizing Sick, the punishing, bleeped workout of Range and the relentless, discord of Loudness. By this point Lewis has really worked up into a frenzy. Tight percussive workouts keep this album firing on all cylinders. A short interlude is offered as Opaque drifts quickly through the chaos of this straight to the floor album. Through the darkness, a glimmer of Hope shines through, albeit a cold and fleeting techno version as Lewis leaves you bare and bleeding. Yet more dance floor action as the elasticated synths of Binary (recently remixed by Spanish techno don Oscar Mulero) tear through the backbone of the album. By far Lewis’ most destructive track. The static buzz of Psychiatric is a welcome come down from the headiness of the previous track allowing Lewis to lead us through the black hole, ending on the Other Planet. It’s swirling, vortex like pads sliced open with subtle percussive, other worldly bleeps. A fitting end to this hyperactive techno journey.

A definite maturity in production shines through on this fantastic LP from Fautzi as he creates a cold and calculating output, clearly focused on the future. The Gare Album has allowed Fautzi to express himself fully through electronic music, a task that he has taken to whole-heartedly.

Portuguese techno master Lewis Fautzi returns home after a while with his trademark rugged and solid techno.

For this release he provides four cuts of heavily pressurized dj tools, starting with Total Absence, starting with a solid groove spiced with bass enforced frequencies, the intensity grows as the bars go by using additional percussive layers and electrified drones floating over the beat.

Paranoia comes next, clean and solid drums, elastic sequences and high pitched atmospheres collide in another mental workout.

On the B side, Ground State provides another interpretation, in a more shuffled approach in the rhythms, precisely distorted and with the aid of a bleepy detail that appears from beyond the spectrum.

Closing the Ep, Uncertainty is the most rugged exercise in this release, once again distortion is wisely used and the approach is more industrial than the previous cuts.

One more proof of the expertise of this fundamental producer in today’s serious techno scene.

The ever reliable Lewis Fautzi returns to Soma with his furious brand of deep and hypnotic Techno. We also welcome debuts on the label in the form of two stunning remixes by international Techno stars, Sleeparchive & Sigha, who both turn in very unique takes on Fautzi's work.

Fautzi's Eerie opens the EP with deep pulsating rhythms and a real tripped out feel as each element of the track synchronises to create that perfect Techno tool. Berlin's Sleeparchive delivers an immense and ferocious version of Eerie, turning the deep original into a wild, mechanical workout. The darker vibes continue as Fautzi unleashes Horizontz with its stuttered percussive workout that punctuates rasping white noise and growling synths which modulate effortlessly through the track creating the desired tension. Our Circula Sound boss Sigha debuts on Soma and his version of Horizontz takes on a whole new life as his more subtle and melodic approach feeds a powerful and carefully crafted beast. Fautzi rounds off his latest Soma EP with Mental Circuits, once again going down a deep and murky path as understated rhythms through the synth and percussive work build the pressure.

Fautzi is calmly climbing into the higher echelons of the Techno scene and with releases like this, its clear to see why.

“Parachute” opens up the release in a spellbinding, energy-heavy manner, with its whirlwind groove and lead taking no prisoners.
