Techno Top 2000  [UPDATING WEEKLY]  - part 4

Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Second edition of "Chutes" series with a more electro touch this time. Those demos were very early work of me from like 7 years ago, trying to match a certain sound from my inspirations regarding sound design. No need to give them as much light as my main releases, hope some people will find their way in a selection of demos used as my sound laboratory I don't plan to play that much. But it's out !

Pursuit is making those airmiles on our third EP. Flying in hot, straight from Cordoba Argentina is our friend Lucas Aquilera with a filthy and brooding track that has been a staplehold in the sets of label boss Rob Hes.

On remixing duties, Rob is shaking things up with a big and dirty kick and combines that with all the great elements of the original. Additionally we have veteran Steve Mulder, who delivers a hands-in-air monster with his version of the remix.

Slowing things down and dragging us into deeper, murkier and groovier waters is the talented duo Duss from Poland. Tipped as the biggest talent of 2018 by Rob Hes, they again deliver exactly that Pursuit sound.

The 40th Release on our main label Bubblejam is here, we wanted to finish 2018 on a really strong note, and we certainly have achieved that!

Gary Burrows has unleashed his monstrous new single
 'I am Ready' closing an even stronger third year for bubblejam.

Gary Burrows is an up and coming Techno DJ and Producer from Birmingham UK who is firmly establishing a name for himself within the techno scene.

Gary's' influences from the harder side of Techno and Old School hardcore are clear to hear. Gary grew up with old rave tapes being left around the house by his brother and sister and once Gary listened to these he became addicted to dance music and was hungry to discover more.

Gary burst onto the scene with his explosive, energetic and driving Techno in 2016 with two tracks signed to Spektre's Respekt Recordings. This was immediately followed up with another EP signed to Respekt. Since then Gary has had a number of releases across some huge labels including Funk N Deep, Layer 909, Eclipse, Orange Recordings, and Technologic. 

Gary has received some fantastic support from some big artists such as Carl Cox, Alan Fitzpatrick, Spektre, Pan-Pot, Richie Hawtin, Spartaque, DurtySoxx, Fatima Hajji and many more 



To make sure this Christmas treat is truly unforgettable, we have rounded up some incredible remixes from some of our favorite artists from around the world.

'Leonardo was a new artist to the label, with his emotive release last February on We Are The Brave, and Alan Fitzpatrick is proud to have him back this year for this follow up titled ‘Soul Foundations’ EP.

The release opens with ‘Gentle’ – yet not similar to its name with a dominant kick drum and a vocal chant giving the tracks an ethereal tone. This is the one track which has a debut remix from 9th House, taking things a little more jacking with experimental and heady percussive notes.

Composed 4/4 track ‘The Prophecy’ builds energetically with an infectious, seamless and uplifting rhythm, while broken beat ‘Call To My Beloved’ is a perfect dawn and dusk track - its body moving and mind melting modulations capturing from the first note to the last.'

Premiere: Leonardo - The Prophecy [We Are The Brave]

He is renowned for his commanding trance and techno productions, and now Stephen Kirkwood has announced his debut EP release under his Kunky moniker. Come With Me is a captivating listen: 22 minutes of driving techno that is as cerebral as it is emotive.

The title track and opener Come With Me is a bustling, kick-driven techno monster that layers a whispered, sultry female vocal over a base of industrial-strength percussion. Come with me/into this moment, urge the lyrics, before a euphoric build and drop that propels the track to its peak. This is prime dancefloor material, the kind that will fill even the most cavernous of warehouse raves.
Joe Blake delivers an alternative, but no less powerful version, focussing in on the drones and pads for a more direct, dancefloor orientated approach.

Needin' U again employs an imploring vocal sample, but this is an altogether harder, darker track. Moody, atmospheric and driven by wonky, distorted synths, Needin' U lingers in your memory long after the forbidding beats have faded away. 

The record's final track, Oblique, is anything but - this is a direct, thumping closer that flirts with touches of acid and trance to make a resounding closing statement. Kunky's Come With Me EP is an excellent introduction to the versatile talents of this up-and-coming producer.
