Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Its been a busy time for Rob Hes since his last appearance on SCI+TEC just over a year ago. His EP ‘The Prophecy’ kicked off a strong run of releases that’s seen him feature on Tronic, ELEVATE, KD Raw and a debut with Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings. Today the Dutchman returns to SCI+TEC with his latest wares and shows he’s learnt even more ’Tricks of The Trade’.

The cavernous feeling of the title track envelops the listener while its echoing gong and rolling bassline create its fierce groove. Rob ramps things on ‘Who’s The Wolf’, with its sinister synths devastating drive, before we’re treated to the bouncing single note melody and fantastic finalé of ‘The Greater Good’. 

With ‚Tricks of The Trade’ Rob rolls out another SCI+TEC smash confirming, as if it were needed, just why he’s one of the hottest and most in demand producers of today.

Transmit Recordings is back just in the time for the Off Week in Barcelona. The VA kicks off with a track from the Boss himself. Boris brings the heat with his dark 'Your Mind' a track that will instantly have you moving in the late night hours. His tune is followed by some familiar names to Transmit and the Techno community like Fankyeffe, Spartaque, and Mattew Jay who served some sure dancefloor bombs. The VA finishes strongly with some new additions in welcoming Carlos Manaca and Kyle Lars who came correct with their debuts to the Transmit family. All in all a strong pack just in time for the summer.

Anyone who’s encountered Christopher Kah’s sounds over the years will know all too well that he’s a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist. 
A true innovator in his field, Kah is a man who takes great pride in ensuring his music is presented in a truly unique format. 
His latest endeavour is RE: SOURCE, a concept where “every track” he explains, “is created with minimum resources”. 
This all comes to light quite brilliantly via his latest, RE: SOURCE 01. Featuring four original tracks, the release also comes backed by four individual videos which demonstrate the producer’s grand knack for live production.

Kicking off matters is the sounds of ‘Blade’. 
Like much of this EP, it’s produced using the Roland TR-8S in conjunction with another of his weapons of choice, the Elektron Digitakt. 
A grandiose and foreboding track with shades of UR at its core, this is trippy techno of the type often emitted from the genre’s godfathers straight out of Detroit.

‘Machine’ is a raw, minimal cut that’s laced with acid from the get-go. Full of muffled vocal patterns, it’s a thoroughly uncompromising spectacle that never lets its guard down for a moment. 
A hypnotic track that’s most definitely suited to peak-time pastures, it’s sure to decimate any dancefloor its let loose on. 
‘Extent’ is next up. A track that ups the ante even further, it’s characterised by its big room capabilities and dramatic overtones. 
Like much of Kah’s best work, it’s not one for the faint of heart, and has already proved a highlight of the French producer’s much-loved live sets.

Culminating the release is the sounds of ‘Warcry’. A gnarly track that’s notable for its restless sheen, it’s full of tantalising claps, snares and a heaving, chugging vibe that ensures the release signs out amongst a general feeling of euphoria. 
A truly captivating release, Kah’s latest is sure to find favour with in-the-know techno heads especially.

The Reason Y - Matter Of Balance

With 10 years of prolifically releasing bangers on the likes of Riot Recordings and Kraftek Recordings, the Rome based DJ and producer Frankyeffe returns to Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds. The three tracks on the Maximizer EP are tough techno with an attitude - perfectly aligned with Senso’s aesthetic. 

The title track 'Maximizer' is a prime example - a lean and muscular work out tailored for big rooms and warehouses. 'Conditions' has elements that hark back to the hardcore sound of the 90s, yet with a slick, contemporaty edge that makes it an essential listen for DJs and dancers on a harder tip. 'Red Alert' is stripped back and weaponised to the max - firing percussion interacts with a thick, low kick and ravey basslines and synths.
