This song is one of my first real featured-artist collaborations for me as a producer. My talented and wonderful daughter sang the lead vocal and helped me co-write the melody to better fit her performance style. As a producer, I like to include the vocalist's input to better serve the performance.

09/13/2025 I pulled this track out of circulation for a while until I had some time to wrap my head around how to handle some of the older mixes I had.  I read through all of these amazing comments and I was like this is unreal.  Fellow soundclouders have been so generous with their compliments and praise that I hardly feel worthy of this. Thank you again and again!!!! But alas, I never work completely alone and this track had a lot of my usual friends helping me. 

Also...I think I'll just have a playlist for now called Brenda Archives and not bombard folks with too many of my old tracks too frequently. There was a time when you bought one album of around 11 tunes from an artist and that was it until they made another album maybe at the very least a year later. This is not the case in the music business anymore but for me,  I would prefer to do things a little at a time. ;-)

01/17/2025 There was a time I thought my little songs could actually "change the world"; that perhaps music could make us all more kind, compassionate, tolerant, empathic, less violent, less greedy, or at a minimum, happier. 

I have always hoped we could navigate our differences with words rather than weapons and that humanity could as a whole, truly practice reverence for the planet and all the living creatures who share it with us. 

But, I see now how absolutely naive I was. The despair, suffering, destruction, and apathy that continues now, many years after I wrote this song, has not changed. Some things, are better but many things, are not; however, I remain hopeful that humanity will eventually work things out and I, in any way that I can, will keep trying to make things better. And so I decided, I would finish producing this song and include it in my first album; an album which on many days might be the continuation of a journey, or on other days, the end of a journey.

Well well well, here I am again; happy but still very anxiety-ridden about posting. Since I don't post that often, I guess my skin is not that thick. Regardless, I felt it was time to post another track from my 13-song album. 

I love this quote from Carl Sagan's book Contact: “You're an interesting species. An interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. I see amazing folks here everywhere putting out albums and EPs and I'm like, I am a complete nervous wreck over this!!! I mean many of the tunes have been or are posted so what's to worry about? Welcome to my world of worry.

Hi! Thank you so very much for visiting my soundcloud page and for supporting my little songs with your likes and amazing comments.  I am so grateful for your time.  If you have decided to follow me, all I have to say is that I am honored! Thank you!  I have posted some tracks, mostly from my first album soon to be released. 

I write, sing, play piano/keys, arrange, produce, and can perform live all of my own songs. I work with real players both live and remotely. What I do and the way I do it takes time, effort, and money. I don't use any A.I. to write my songs, arrange, do vocals, or anything else.
