Two Thrush Nightingales in song.  Recorded at night beginning at 2.05am on the 20th of May 2013, in Soomaa National Park, Estonia.  This is the third of three recordings.  Some months ago I uploaded this same recording but a shorter version in 44khz/16bit, this recording is the full-length 48Khz/24Bit version.  Equipment; A matched pair of Sennheiser MKH8020 microphones, a Sound Devices MixPre microphone pre-amp and a Marantz PMD661 solid state recorder.

I was asked to guest vocal on this track. Went to an apartment in South Yarra in 2000 and recorded this in a couple of takes behind the door in the guys bedroom studio. Left with this demo and never heard from them again.  I do like this song.

Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park is a vast area of lowland rainforest in near the tip of Cape York in the far north of Australia.  The biodiversity here is  more akin with the lowland forests of New Guinea, and for a significant number of species this area is the southern limit of their distribution. In this sample you can hear the loud whistles of a Magnificent Riflebird and the squawks of Eclectus Parrots, along with many other species in the background.
