Smash Deep, the forward-thinking sub-label of Smash The House, continues to expand its cutting-edge catalogue with the release of ‘The Metronome’, a collaboration between Mexico City-born, New York-based DJ/producer Mayté and Belgian duo Nash & Pepper. A hypnotic deep house cut, The Metronome blends rich atmospherics with subtle experimental touches, pulling listeners into a state of pure, shut-eye euphoria.

Anchored by driving low-end grooves, the track fuses ethereal vocal samples with unexpected laugh motifs, creating a sonic duality that is both immersive and playfully surreal. The result is a piece of deep house that feels equally at home on late-night dancefloors as it does in the intimate glow of headphone sessions.

For Nash & Pepper (Nicolas Geniets and Steven Pepermans), the release marks another step in their long-running partnership that has spanned over two decades. Friends since childhood, the Belgian duo cut their teeth remixing the likes of Maurizzio and Technotronic before carving out a name with releases on Armada Music and beyond. Known for their ability to craft warm, progressive grooves laced with emotion, they bring their seasoned studio touch to The Metronome, pushing their sound into deeper, hypnotic territory.

On the other side of the collaboration, Mayté brings her global perspective and unmistakable flair. Raised on the industrial underground sounds of Mexico City and the energy of Latin rhythms, she has become a prominent figure in New York’s club circuit, holding residencies at some of the city’s most renowned venues and sharing stages with Oliver Koletzki, Sébastien Léger, Joeski, and Chus. Her deep, tribal-infused house and melodic techno sensibilities shine through on The Metronome, layering the track with a refined sense of rhythm and atmosphere.

Together, Mayté and Nash & Pepper deliver a record that is both sophisticated and transportive — a hypnotic journey designed to move bodies and minds alike. With The Metronome, Smash Deep reaffirms its mission of pushing electronic music into uncharted yet deeply resonant spaces.
