Erstwhile disco party starters, occasional radio hosts and podcasters. Brewed in Nottingham, drunk in London.

Set up by DJs Nick Shaw and Ed Cotton and promoter Olly Hewett, Basement Boogaloo began life beneath the streets of Nottingham and developed into one of the city's best-loved parties. It had three simple ingredients: a dancefloor full of like-minded musical souls, a crystal-clear sound system and some of the best DJ talent from across the disco galaxy. 

Here you can listen to some of our radio shows and mixes from the past few years.

Over the course of 7 or so years, the parties moved from Bar None (a tiny basement bolthole) to the Maze (a rowdy local venue which perfectly suited the night's sweaty brand of hedonism) via famed bank holiday all-dayers and NYE shakedowns in Notts, and appearances at the Electric Chair, the Electric Elephant and the Garden Festival in Croatia. The gang also hosted a series of parties and two killer NYEs at The Star of Bethnal Green and a series of more intimate basement affairs in Stoke Newington, London.

Basement Boogaloo would have been nothing without the guests it hosted over the years. Consisting of a fine selection of family and friends and some bona fide scene heavyweights, they included:
